FAQ – Frequently asked questions

Can this plastic medicine bottle be used repeatedly?

Yes, the packaging can be used repeatedly if basic hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, we recommend thoroughly cleaning the bottle and then disinfecting it, for example using isopropyl alcohol or ethanol available in the Handymade range (IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol, ethanol 96% denatured, plant-based). This minimizes the risk of microbial contamination as well as residues from previous formulations.

How to safely clean the plastic packaging before further use?

First remove the remains of the original product and rinse the bottle with warm water and a mild detergent. Then rinse the packaging thoroughly with clean water, let it dry and disinfect it with a suitable alcohol before filling (we recommend IPA products or ethanol from the Handymade range). For plastic packaging, avoid aggressive abrasive cleaners and excessively high temperatures to prevent damage to the surface or deformation of the material.

How to dispose of and recycle this bottle if I do not want to use it further?

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend, after emptying and basic rinsing, placing it in sorted waste according to the type of plastic specified in the product parameters (for example, the relevant recycling symbol and material designation). Sort both the cap and the bottle body according to the instructions in the parameter table on the Handymade product page; if they are made of different materials, it is advisable to separate them before disposal. By sorting correctly, you support the recycling process and reduce the amount of waste.

Is the plastic packaging suitable for the dishwasher or for boiling at high temperatures?

Plastic packaging of this type is not intended to be exposed to high temperatures. Long-term contact with hot water, hot-air drying or boiling can lead to deformation, weakening of the walls or deterioration of the closure sealing. For the same reason, we do not recommend washing in a dishwasher. For cleaning, rather use lukewarm to moderately warm water, a mild detergent and subsequent disinfection with a suitable alcohol.
