The plastic pump is a practical dispensing component for liquid products that ensures comfortable, controlled and hygienic dosing. It is particularly suitable for packaging liquid cosmetic preparations such as gels, emulsions or liquid soaps, where an exact amount and minimisation of the content’s contact with air and hands are important. The reliable dispensing mechanism helps maintain the stability of the formulation and the professional appearance of the final product.
The plastic pump is intended to be combined with compatible bottles and vials according to the selected product parameters, thus creating a functional and aesthetic whole for the final packaging. Combinations of packaging and closures that are created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend performing your own compatibility test (sealing, dosing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation) so that you can be sure of reliable functioning for the particular product.
All technical parameters of the packaging are listed in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
Before first use, we recommend disassembling the pump to the extent that the design allows without damage and rinsing it thoroughly with drinking water. Subsequently, it is appropriate to disinfect all parts with a suitable alcohol solution, for example with isopropyl alcohol or with 96% ethanol of plant origin. After disinfection, let the components dry freely on a clean surface that does not leave fibres or dust, and only then reassemble and fill the pump.
The pump can be used repeatedly if basic hygiene principles are observed. Between individual filling cycles, we recommend completely using up the original contents, emptying the pump and the corresponding bottle, cleaning them and then thoroughly disinfecting them with a suitable alcohol, for example IPA 99% or 96% denatured plant ethanol. Only after all parts are completely dry is the packaging ready for a new filling.
If the pump doses unevenly or appears to be blocked, we recommend unscrewing it from the bottle, rinsing it in warm (not boiling) water and pumping clean water through the mechanism several times empty. For thicker or more content-rich formulations, a short rinse with a diluted cleaning solution may also help, after which thorough rinsing with drinking water is always necessary. If dosing does not work reliably even after cleaning, it is recommended to replace the pump with a new piece.
If you decide not to use the pump further, we recommend first emptying it as much as possible of product residues. Then follow the recommendation according to the material composition listed in the parameters of the given product on the page – depending on the type of plastic, it is possible to sort the components into the appropriate plastic container. In the case of combined materials, it may be necessary to separate individual parts, if the design allows this. Detailed information on the appropriate method of recycling can be found in the parameter table for the particular pump in the e‑shop.
The fastest way is to use the advanced filter, which you can find at the top of the page after clicking on the relevant packaging category. Thanks to the filter, you can sort the available bottles, vials, jars, pumps and other packaging material according to key parameters – specifically by neck type, size, colour and material used. In this way you create an overview only of those packages that meet the requirements of your product and you will more easily find the most suitable combination of packaging and dispensing component.
