The glass jar is a practical and durable container suitable for packaging various cosmetic products, ointments, balms or more solid mixtures. Thanks to the high-quality glass, it is suitable for formulations that require hygienic and stable storage, while the black lid completes the professional appearance of the finished product. This type of container is popular in the production of natural cosmetics, where not only functionality but also the aesthetics of the final packaging are important.
The glass jar is characterized by good barrier properties that help protect the contents from external influences. In combination with a sealing closure, it is suitable for cosmetic formulations with an oil, butter and emulsion base. The rigid material reduces the risk of odour penetration and mutual interaction between the packaging and the stored product, which is especially important for mixtures containing essential oils and active substances.
The jar is supplied as a complete set with a lid, and the closing system is adapted for safe and convenient use in everyday cosmetic practice. Combinations of containers and closures created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend carrying out your own compatibility test (sealing, dosing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation).
All technical parameters of the packaging are given in the enclosed Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
The glass jar is generally a suitable choice for formulations containing essential oils, since glass has good chemical stability and is less reactive with aromatic components. During production it is important to follow the recommended concentrations of essential oils and always carry out your own stability test – check the behaviour of the blend over time, changes in scent, consistency and any discolouration, so that you can be sure that the selected packaging and formulation are mutually compatible.
The jar can be reused if hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, the packaging must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected with a suitable product, for example isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. For this purpose you can use the products IPA 99 – isopropyl alkohol (/ipa-99-isopropyl-alkohol-1-l/ target="_blank") or Ethanol 96 % denaturovany rastlinny (/etanol-96-denaturovany-rastlinny-1-l/ target="_blank"). Disinfection reduces the risk of microbial contamination and helps maintain the safety of the finished product even when the packaging is reused.
After the product has been used up, we recommend first mechanically removing any residue from the jar, then washing it with warm water and a suitable cleaning agent and rinsing well. After drying, it is important to disinfect the interior and the thread with an alcohol-based product, for example IPA 99 – isopropyl alkohol (/ipa-99-isopropyl-alkohol-1-l/ target="_blank") or Ethanol 96 % denaturovany rastlinny (/etanol-96-denaturovany-rastlinny-1-l/ target="_blank"). Before the final filling, make sure that no residues of cleaning agents or impurities remain in the container, in order to ensure the best possible microbiological cleanliness of the packaging.
If you decide not to use the jar any more, we recommend recycling it according to the material composition specified in the product parameters. As standard, the glass container can be placed, after emptying and basic rinsing, into the container designated for glass. The lid is usually sorted according to the type of material (for example plastic or metal) into the appropriate container. Before recycling, check the material marking and local waste sorting rules so that the packaging is disposed of in the most environmentally friendly way possible.
To select suitable packaging, you can use the advanced filter found at the top of the page after clicking on the relevant packaging category. In it you can easily set the required parameters – for example the type and size of the neck, the overall size of the packaging, colour and material. This allows you to quickly filter out only those bottles, jars or vials that best match your product and the intended dosing method.
