The glass jar with a clear bottom and plastic lid is an elegant and practical packaging solution, especially suitable for filling denser cosmetic products and smaller quantities of special blends. The sturdy glass ensures the stability of the contents and minimizes unwanted interactions between the formulation and the packaging, making the jar suitable for various creams, balms or concentrated products. The plastic lid allows convenient and quick closing, while a properly selected inner sealing element (if it is part of the system) helps maintain the freshness and quality of the fill.
Yes, the glass jar is also suitable for natural and handmade cosmetics such as butters, balms, ointments or creams. The stable glass helps to minimize interactions between the packaging and the natural ingredients, which is important for vegetable oils, waxes and active substances. Before the first filling we recommend washing the jar thoroughly, drying it and then disinfecting it in order to reduce the risk of microbial contamination.
The jar can be reused if proper hygiene practices are followed. After the contents have been used up, the packaging must be thoroughly cleaned, residues of the original product removed and then disinfected with a suitable alcohol-based disinfectant, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured, plant-based. Only after it has completely dried is the jar ready for refilling. When changing the type of product (for example from a greasy balm to a watery gel), precise disinfection is particularly important.
After emptying the jar, first remove coarse product residues with a paper towel or spatula. Wash the container in warm water with a suitable cleaning agent, rinse it thoroughly and let it dry completely. It is then necessary to disinfect the jar – we recommend using alcohol-based disinfectants, for example isopropyl alcohol or plant-based ethanol. After the alcohol has evaporated and the jar has dried, the packaging is ready for reuse. For the plastic lid, follow the recommendations for the plastic material and avoid excessively high temperatures that could deform it.
If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it responsibly. First separate the glass jar from the plastic lid. Glass usually belongs in the container designated for glass waste, and the plastic lid is sorted according to the type of plastic indicated in the product parameters. Before handing it over to separate collection, remove any product residues and at least roughly rinse the packaging. Specific recycling rules may differ slightly depending on the local waste sorting system, so we recommend also following the recommendations of your municipality or city.
To select suitable packaging, we recommend using the extended filter in the packaging material categories. After clicking on a specific category (for example bottles, jars or dropper bottles), you will find the filter at the top of the page. Using it, you can conveniently filter packaging by neck type, size, colour and material, and thus adapt the selection to the specific requirements of your product. Thanks to the filters, you can easily compare several options and choose the solution that best suits you in terms of design and functionality.
