The trigger sprayer is designed primarily for water-based solutions, hydrolats and light liquids, or very light emulsions with low viscosity. With thicker emulsions there may be reduced flow or clogging of the nozzle. We therefore recommend testing each new formulation first on a small sample, checking the evenness of spraying and, depending on the result, possibly adjusting the formula (dilution, change of type of emulsifier and similar).

The packaging can be used repeatedly if hygienic principles are observed. Before each new filling, however, it is necessary to clean and disinfect the bottle and the sprayer thoroughly, in order to minimize the risk of microbial contamination of the new product batch. For disinfection we recommend using technical alcohol, for example IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96% denatured vegetable, and allowing all parts of the packaging to dry thoroughly. During storage it is appropriate to protect the packaging from dust and impurities.

We recommend testing compatibility in several steps: first fill a smaller amount of product into the selected bottle with this sprayer and check whether the system correctly draws up the liquid and sprays it evenly. Then monitor the behaviour of the packaging for at least several days – focus on sealing of the thread, possible leakage, changes in the colour of the plastic or changes in the consistency of the product in contact with the material. If the results are stable and without signs of degradation or leakage, you can safely use the packaging also for a larger production series.

If you decide not to use the packaging any further, we recommend first emptying it, wiping or rinsing off any product residues depending on the type of contents, and then placing it in sorted waste according to the material specified in the parameter table for the product. Always follow local waste collection rules – these determine whether individual plastic components can be recycled in the municipal system. By separating the different parts of the packaging (bottle, sprayer head, possibly dip tube) and sorting them correctly, you help to maximize the rate of recycling and reduce the amount of mixed waste.
