The plastic trigger sprayer provides a practical solution for convenient and even application of liquid preparations in cosmetics, drugstore products and household use. Thanks to the trigger mechanism, it enables precise dosing and creates a fine spray pattern that is ideal for products intended for surface applications on skin, hair, textiles or household surfaces. This type of packaging is especially popular for formulations where the combination of comfortable use, consumption control and clean application without direct contact with the contents is important.
The sprayer is designed to be combined with compatible bottles and containers with a matching thread. They are compatible with various types of closures and dosing systems (for example screw caps, droppers, sprayers or practical applicators) according to the selected parameters for the specific packaging. Combinations of packaging and closures that are created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend performing your own compatibility test – checking the sealing, dosing consistency and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation (viscosity, alcohol content, oil or water base, etc.).
All technical parameters of the packaging are listed in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
To choose a suitable packaging, we recommend using the advanced filter in the packaging categories. After clicking on the required category, the advanced filter is located in the upper part of the page and allows detailed sorting according to several parameters. You can filter by neck type and size, overall size of the packaging, colour and material. This makes it easy to select a bottle, jar or other packaging that best matches the properties of your product and the desired dosing method.
The sprayer can be reused if handled appropriately, but we always recommend following strict hygiene rules. Before each new filling, it is necessary to clean the packaging and mechanism as thoroughly as possible and then disinfect them, ideally using a suitable alcohol (for example IPA or ethanol). For disinfection you can use the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured, plant-based. Only after all parts are completely dry is the sprayer ready for reuse.
The trigger sprayer is most suitable for low-viscosity liquids that can be easily drawn up and evenly sprayed – typically aqueous solutions, water–alcohol blends and light emulsions without significant undissolved particles. For formulations with a higher oil content or with more solid components, it is necessary to test whether the dip tube and valve are not clogging and whether the sprayer maintains a consistent spray pattern. For thicker or highly particulate preparations, another type of dosing (for example a pump) may be more appropriate.
For thorough cleaning we recommend first disassembling the sprayer into accessible parts (bottle, head, dip tube) and rinsing them with warm water and a mild detergent suitable for the given material. It is then advisable to pump clean water through the mechanism several times to remove residues of the previous product. After rinsing, all parts need to be disinfected – for example using IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured, plant-based. After disinfection, allow the components to dry completely in a clean and protected place to prevent residual moisture in the new product.
If you decide not to use the sprayer and any corresponding bottle any longer, we recommend recycling them in accordance with the material type specified in the product parameter table on the Handymade website. Before placing them in sorted waste, it is advisable to empty the packaging as much as possible and rinse out any product residues. Then follow the recycling symbols and recommendations in the parameters – this will allow you to place the packaging in the appropriate collection container (e.g. plastic). In the case of a combination of several materials, it is practical to separate the individual parts (bottle, closure, mechanism) so that they can end up in the correct recycling stream.
