Yes, the packaging can, if correct hygiene principles are observed, be safely reused. Before each new filling we recommend thoroughly cleaning the bottle and the dispenser, rinsing them and subsequently disinfecting them with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. Only after they are completely dry should you refill the packaging, thereby supporting product hygiene and extending the comfort of its use.

We recommend first disassembling the dispenser to the extent allowed by its construction and rinsing it with lukewarm water and a mild cleaning agent suitable for hand washing. It is then advisable to flush water under pressure through the suction tube to remove any residues of the previous fill. After mechanical cleaning, allow all parts to dry thoroughly and only then carry out disinfection by spraying or briefly immersing them in an alcohol solution. Do not expose the dispenser to high temperatures and do not boil it, in order to avoid damage to the internal seals and springs.

The construction of the black dispenser is optimized for more liquid to medium-viscosity products, such as emulsion body lotions, light creams, hair products or gels. For very dense balms or butters, dispensing may be less smooth, so for a new formulation we recommend testing the consistency in a smaller trial batch. If the product passes smoothly through the pump without excessive resistance, the packaging is suitable for that type of consistency.

From an ecological point of view, it is most appropriate to extend the lifetime of the packaging through repeated use – with each new filling, however, follow the cleaning and disinfection procedure to ensure product hygiene. If you decide not to use the bottle any further, we recommend recycling it according to the type of plastic indicated in the product parameter table on Handymade.sk. Before throwing it into the appropriate container, remove any residual contents from the packaging and, if necessary, briefly rinse it. By sorting correctly you enable the material to be reintroduced into the recycling chain and to be used for the production of further packaging or plastic products.
