The combinations of packaging and closures created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we recommend always performing your own compatibility test (sealing, dosing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation).

Yes, the glass packaging is suitable for formulations containing vegetable oils, essential oils and cosmetic active substances, provided they are compatible with this type of glass. The dark glass also helps to limit light penetration, which is beneficial for products sensitive to oxidation. Before placing on the market, we recommend performing your own stability tests of your specific composition.
The packaging can be reused if hygiene principles are followed. Before each filling, thoroughly clean the bottle and the dropper, check their integrity and removal of any residues of the original product. Afterwards, we recommend disinfecting the packaging with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example using IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or 96% plant-based ethanol. Only after complete drying is the packaging ready for refilling.
The accuracy of dosing is affected by the viscosity of your formulation as well as the filling method. After filling, we recommend checking that the dropper is properly tightened and that the rubber part is not damaged. Then test the dripping at different angles and with different pressing speeds to verify that the dosing corresponds to the intended use and that no product leaks around the thread during storage.
If you decide not to reuse the packaging, it is recommended to recycle it in accordance with local waste-sorting rules and with the material information given in the product parameters. The glass bottle can usually be placed in a glass container once any product residues have been removed. The dropper is made of a combination of several materials, so sort it according to local recommendations or dispose of it in mixed waste if no other recycling option is available. Before handing over for collection, it is advisable to at least roughly rinse the packaging.
