The elegant dark glass bottle represents a professional packaging solution for cosmetic formulations, serums, oils or concentrated blends. The dark glass helps to reduce light penetration to the contents, thereby supporting the stability of sensitive components and extending the usability of liquid products. Combined with a suitable dispensing system, it offers an aesthetic, functional and reusable solution for home and artisan brands.
Individual glass bottles are compatible with various types of closures and dispensing systems (for example screw caps, droppers, sprayers or practical applicators) according to the parameters selected directly in the online shop. Combinations of packaging and closures that are created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations, we always recommend carrying out your own compatibility test – verify sealing, dosing quality and the behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation.
All technical parameters of the packaging are specified in the enclosed Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
The glass bottle is generally suitable for most oil-based and water-based cosmetic products, such as serums, toners or oil blends. However, before final filling, we recommend testing the compatibility of the specific formulation with the selected type of closure or dispenser, so that you can be sure of proper sealing, dosing and product stability.
The packaging can be reused if hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, it is necessary to clean the bottle thoroughly and then disinfect it with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example isopropyl alcohol ALK001 or plant-based ethanol ALK002. This minimises the risk of microbial contamination and of the next product’s fragrance or colour being affected by residues of the previous filling.
Before placing the product on the market or storing it long term, we recommend filling the bottle with a small amount of your formulation, fitting the selected closure or dispenser and observing sealing, dosing and the appearance of the contents for several days. Pay attention to any changes in colour, fragrance, viscosity or deposits around the neck thread. Perform the test under the storage conditions planned for the final product (for example room temperature, usual light conditions).
After the contents have been used up, first rinse the bottle with a suitable cleaning solution (for example warm water with a detergent that is compatible with your raw materials) and then rinse thoroughly with clean water. Afterwards, allow the packaging to dry completely and, before refilling, disinfect it with alcohol – products such as IPA 99% or ethanol 96% denatured plant-based are practical. Allow the disinfectant to evaporate after application and only then refill the bottle.
If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it according to the type of material specified in the product parameters. After removing any product residues, the glass part should be placed in the appropriate glass collection container according to local waste sorting. Dispose of the closure, dropper or dispenser according to its material composition (for example plastic, metal) and local recycling rules. Before handing the packaging over for recycling, it is advisable to remove as much product residue as possible to facilitate processing in the recycling process.
On the Handymade website you can use the advanced filter, which is located at the top of the page after clicking on a specific packaging category. With its help, you can easily choose suitable packaging according to parameters such as neck type, size, colour or material. We recommend starting by selecting a category (for example bottles, jars, pots) and then filtering according to the type of product you want to fill and the dispensing method you prefer.
