Glass is generally a very stable and resistant packaging material, also suitable for formulations with a higher proportion of essential oils or alcohol. However, for every new product we recommend carrying out your own compatibility test – filling a smaller volume with the chosen formulation, monitoring any changes to the packaging, closure and dispensing, and verifying that no leakage, discolouration or change in odour occurs. In this way you can easily verify that the given combination of bottle, closure and formulation is fully suitable for your specific product.

The glass bottle can be used repeatedly if hygienic principles are observed; however, it is recommended to keep it long term for the same or a very similar type of product. Before each new filling, the packaging must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected – for example using isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. In the offer you will find the products IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol and Ethanol 96% denatured plant-based, which are suitable for hygienic disinfection of packaging before filling. After disinfection, allow the bottle and the cap to dry completely and only then fill it with a new product.

Before repeated use, we recommend first mechanically cleaning the bottle – removing product residues by rinsing with warm water and a suitable cleaning agent, and using a bottle brush if necessary. After thorough rinsing with clean water, disinfection with a suitable alcohol follows, for example with the products IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96% denatured plant-based. Fill the bottle with the disinfectant solution or rinse it with it, allow it to act, then let the packaging and the closure drain separately and dry completely in a clean environment. Only then is the packaging ready for refilling.

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, it is appropriate to recycle it according to the type of material indicated in the product parameters. After removing any remaining contents and labels, dispose of the glass part of the bottle in the container designated for glass. Sort the cap and any seals according to the material specified for the product – usually into the container for plastics or metal packaging, or according to the local waste sorting system. Before discarding, we recommend at least roughly rinsing the packaging to minimize product residues in the sorted waste.
