Glass bottle – medicine bottle with practical screw cap and pour insert represents a reliable packaging for liquid and slightly viscous products where precise and controlled dosing is important. High-quality glass in combination with a pour insert helps protect the contents against contamination, leakage and unwanted contact with air, which is ideal for formulations sensitive to oxidation and repeated opening of the packaging.
This type of packaging is popular for pharmaceutical, cosmetic and technical formulations where higher stability of the contents, practical pouring and secure closure are required. The robust glass is suitable for longer-term storage and allows professional presentation of the finished product in home as well as artisan production.
Glass medicine bottles of this type are compatible with various types of closures and dosing systems (for example screw caps, droppers, spray pumps or practical applicators) according to the selected parameters. Combinations of containers and closures that are created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend performing your own compatibility test (sealing, dosing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation).
All technical parameters of the packaging are listed in the enclosed Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
Glass medicine bottles are in general very well usable for formulations containing alcohol or essential oils, because glass is a stable and chemically resistant material. However, we recommend always performing your own compatibility test with your specific formulation, especially in the case of highly concentrated or atypical blends, in order to verify the behaviour of the contents during long-term storage.
Yes, the glass medicine bottle can be used repeatedly if hygienic principles are observed. Before each new filling, the packaging must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected with a suitable alcohol solution, for example with the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. In this way you reduce the risk of microbial contamination and ensure the stability of the next batch of product.
Before repeated use, we recommend first rinsing the bottle with a suitable cleaning solution or warm water with detergent, then thoroughly rinsing with clean water and allowing it to dry completely. After drying, it is advisable to disinfect the inner and outer surface with an alcohol-based preparation (e.g. IPA or ethanol) to minimise the risk of residual microbes. Pay the same attention to the cap and pour insert, which come into contact with the contents.
If you decide not to use the packaging further, we recommend placing it in separated collection according to the material specified in the product parameters. The glass part can usually be placed in the glass container after removing any remaining contents. The plastic cap and pour insert are sorted according to the type of plastic stated in the product details. Before recycling, always empty the packaging, wipe any residues and separate the individual parts according to the recommended recycling rules.
The simplest way is to use the advanced filter in the given packaging category. After clicking on the category at the top of the page you will find the option to filter according to key parameters – you can choose a suitable neck finish, size, colour and packaging material. This allows you to quickly narrow down the range to only those bottles, medicine bottles or jars that are most suitable for your specific product and intended dosing method.
For a new formulation, we recommend first preparing a smaller test quantity, which you fill into one or two bottles. Monitor the sealing of the cap, the behaviour of the pour insert during dosing, any changes in colour, odour or consistency of the contents, and any formation of deposits on the neck. In this way you verify the compatibility of the packaging with the product before filling the entire production batch.
