Glass dropper bottles are generally suitable for packaging preparations containing essential oils, because glass is a material with high chemical stability. However, we always recommend carrying out your own compatibility test with the specific blend, checking the sealing of the chosen closure and monitoring the behaviour of the product over time (discolouration, haze, odour) in order to be sure of its long-term stability.

Can I use this glass bottle repeatedly?

The packaging can be reused if basic hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, the bottle must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. For this purpose you can use the products IPA 99 % – isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. After thorough drying, the bottle is ready for further safe use.

How should I correctly test the compatibility of the contents with this packaging and the chosen closure?

Before including the packaging in regular production, we recommend filling a smaller number of bottles with your formulation and carrying out a test under real storage and use conditions. Monitor the sealing of the closure during transport, dosing during normal handling, any changes in the appearance of the packaging and the contents, as well as the user comfort for the end customer. The test should last at least several days to weeks depending on the type of product and the expected shelf life.

How can I correctly dispose of and recycle the glass dropper bottle after it has reached the end of its service life?

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it in accordance with the material data given in the product parameters. The glass part of the packaging can usually, after emptying and a basic rinse, be placed in glass collection. Any plastic or metal parts of closures and dispensers should, where technically possible, be sorted according to material type. Before handing over to separate collection, it is important to remove product residues from the packaging so that they do not affect the quality of the recycling stream.
