The glass dropper bottle is a universal container suitable for manufacturers of cosmetics, aromatherapeutic preparations and laboratory solutions alike. Thanks to the durable pharmaceutical glass, it provides a stable environment for liquid formulations, protects the contents from the influence of the surrounding environment and enables precise dosing when a suitably chosen closure is used. The dark glass also helps reduce light penetration to sensitive substances, which is practical for products prone to degradation.
Thanks to the stable pharmaceutical glass, the glass bottle is also suitable for formulations with a higher content of active substances or alcohol, if these are compatible with glass according to your internal tests. We recommend first preparing a smaller trial batch, monitoring the product stability over time and testing sealing and dosing with the chosen type of closure or dropper.
The container can be reused if strict hygiene rules are observed. Before each new filling, the bottle must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. For disinfection, you can use products available on Handymade, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alkohol (/ipa-99-isopropyl-alkohol-1-l/) or etanol 96 % denaturovaný rastlinný (/etanol-96-denaturovany-rastlinny-1-l/). After cleaning and disinfection, always check that neither the container nor the closure is mechanically damaged and that the sealing remains fully functional.
Before introducing the packaging into standard production, we recommend preparing a smaller trial batch, filling several bottles, choosing the planned types of closures or droppers and storing them under conditions similar to real use. Pay particular attention to any leakage around the thread, changes in colour or odour of the product, build-up on the neck and the smoothness of dosing. The test should last at least several weeks so that you can be sure that the combination of packaging, closure and formula is stable.
Before the first filling, we recommend visually inspecting the packaging, removing any dust or impurities and then carefully rinsing and drying it. After mechanical cleaning, a disinfection step is important – for this purpose you can use alcohol solutions such as IPA 99 % isopropyl alkohol (/ipa-99-isopropyl-alkohol-1-l/) or etanol 96 % denaturovaný rastlinný (/etanol-96-denaturovany-rastlinny-1-l/). After disinfection, let the bottles dry completely in a clean environment so that no new impurities can enter them.
If you decide not to use the container any further, we recommend recycling it in accordance with local waste sorting rules, based on the information about the material given in the product parameters. The glass part of the bottle can usually be placed, after thorough emptying and rinsing, in the appropriate glass container, while the plastic components of closures or droppers should be sorted according to the type of plastic, if the collection system in your area allows this. Before handing over for recycling, it is always necessary to remove product residues in order to prevent contamination of the recycling stream.
To make it easier to find suitable packaging, you can use the advanced filter located at the top of the page after clicking on the relevant packaging category. In the advanced filter, you can clearly select parameters such as neck type and diameter, overall packaging size, material colour or type of material (glass, various types of plastics, etc.). By combining these filters, you quickly narrow down the range to the packaging that best matches your formula and your planned method of dispensing.
