Glass bottle – medicine bottle is a practical and durable packaging suitable for filling various liquid and powdered preparations. Thanks to the high-quality glass, it helps stabilize the composition of more sensitive formulations and protects them from external influences during storage and use. The darker glass also naturally limits light penetration, which is especially important for products prone to quality deterioration upon contact with light.
This type of medicine bottle is popular for the production of natural cosmetics, herbal preparations and special homemade blends. Thanks to its compact shape, convenient dosing and the possibility of combining it with several types of closures, it represents a universal packaging for small batches as well as regular production.
Glass medicine bottles are compatible with various types of closures and dosing systems (for example screw caps, droppers, spray pumps or practical applicators) according to the parameters selected at purchase. This allows you to customize the method of application – from precise dosing to fine spraying.
The combinations of containers and closures that are created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend performing your own compatibility test (sealing, dosing and behavior of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation), so that you can be sure the packaging will work reliably with your product in the long term.

Before each filling, we recommend mechanically cleaning the bottle (rinsing with water, if needed with a mild detergent) and then disinfecting it with a suitable alcohol. In practice, rinsing with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol has proven effective, followed by allowing the container to air out thoroughly and dry. For disinfection, you can use products available on Handymade, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based.
Yes, the glass medicine bottle is suitable for repeated use provided that you consistently follow hygiene rules. Before each new filling, the packaging must be completely cleaned and disinfected, ideally using alcohol-based disinfectants such as IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. This minimizes the risk of microbial contamination and preserves the quality of the new contents.
If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend emptying it and removing any product residues according to the nature of the product. Then place the glass bottle in a container intended for glass waste according to local recycling rules. Information about the material composition and the recommended method of sorting can be found in the parameter table for the product on the Handymade website. If the closure is made of a different material than the bottle body, sort it separately according to the material designation.
Glass packaging is generally very suitable for formulations containing essential oils and alcohol, because glass is stable and under normal use does not react with such components. When working with a high proportion of volatile substances, however, we recommend paying attention to the choice of closure as well – high-quality sealing is important in order to minimize evaporation and fragrance loss. Before final launch for sale or long-term use, we recommend carrying out your own stability and leakage test.
