Before each new filling, the bottle and the spray pump must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected with a suitable alcohol-based preparation (for example products available on Handymade: IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based). After disinfection, allow all parts to dry completely and only then refill them, in order to minimise the risk of microbial contamination of the product.

We recommend first rinsing the glass part with warm water and a suitable cleaning agent, thoroughly rinsing off any detergent residues and allowing it to dry in a clean place. The spray pump should be rinsed through with clean water by pressing the mechanism several times so that water passes through the entire system. After mechanical cleaning, it is important to carry out disinfection using alcohol (e.g. IPA 99 % or ethanol 96 %). Then allow all components to dry completely at room temperature before refilling.

The glass bottle is generally very well tolerated by formulations containing essential oils or alcohol, which is why it is often used for aromatherapeutic mists, perfume sprays and similar blends. However, compatibility always depends on the specific composition of the product.
