FAQ – Frequently asked questions

Is this glass bottle also suitable for products containing essential oils?

Glass is generally a very stable and resistant material that is also suitable for formulations containing essential oils and aromatic components. Nevertheless, we recommend always performing your own compatibility test with the specific formula, especially at high concentrations of active substances, in order to verify the behaviour of the product during long-term storage.

Can the packaging be reused in cosmetic production?

The glass bottle can be reused provided that you follow basic hygiene principles and the packaging is not mechanically damaged. Before each new filling, the packaging must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. In this way you reduce the risk of microbial contamination and ensure more stable shelf life of your products.

How should the bottle be properly cleaned before first use?

Before first filling we recommend mechanically cleaning the bottle from dust, rinsing it with a suitable cleaning agent, thoroughly rinsing with potable water and allowing it to dry completely. Afterwards it is advisable to disinfect the inner surface and the neck with alcohol, for example using the product IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. Only after the alcohol has completely evaporated is the bottle ready to be filled with the final product.

You offer many types of packaging – how can I find the right one for my product?

The simplest way to choose is to use the advanced filter in the packaging category. After clicking on the relevant category at the top of the page you will find filtering options according to several parameters, such as neck type, size, colour or material. Thanks to this you will quickly select a bottle, medicine bottle, jar or other container that will match your formulation and the desired dosing.

How should I proceed if I do not want to use the packaging further and want to dispose of it in an environmentally friendly way?

If you decide not to reuse the bottle, we recommend, after emptying and basic cleaning, sorting it into the appropriate separated waste according to the material given in the product parameters. The glass part should usually be thrown into the glass container and the plastic closure into separated plastic, unless otherwise stated in the parameters. By recycling you save raw materials and the energy needed to produce new packaging.
