The glass container is generally suitable for formulations containing alcohol, with the glass providing high chemical stability. However, we always recommend testing the specific recipe in a small amount and checking compatibility with the spray dispenser, especially at a higher proportion of alcohol or essential oils. Focus the test on sealing, spray pattern consistency and long-term storage.

The packaging can be reused when hygienic principles are observed. Before each new filling, the bottle and the spray dispenser must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, ideally using isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, for example the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. Only after complete drying and airing is the packaging ready for further use, and we recommend testing the packaging again with the new formulation.

First rinse the bottle with warm water and a suitable cleaning agent and rinse thoroughly until all residues of the original product have disappeared. Then disinfect the container using alcohol (for example products available at Handymade) and let it dry in the air. For the spray dispenser, we recommend pumping through clean water several times and then alcohol to clean the internal dosing path. Only after complete drying of all parts is the bottle ready for refilling.

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend sorting it into separate waste according to the material specified in the product parameters. The glass bottle is usually placed in the container designated for glass after removing product residues. The plastic parts of the spray dispenser and the top piece should be separated from the bottle and sorted according to local rules for plastic collection. When handling the packaging, also follow the recommendations given in the certificate and in the parameter table on the product page.

Mechanical spray dispensers are optimized mainly for low-viscosity, aqueous or water-alcohol preparations. With thicker emulsions or oily blends, the spray quality may deteriorate or the nozzle may become clogged. Therefore, we recommend first trying a small amount of the final formulation in a test bottle and checking the smoothness of dosing as well as the long-term functionality of the spray dispenser.
