Transparent glass bottle represents a universal and aesthetic packaging suitable for various liquid and slightly viscous products. Clear glass enables immediate visual inspection of the contents, which you will appreciate for cosmetics, aromatherapy and for precise dosing of your own formulations. Thanks to the stable glass, the bottle is suitable for water-based as well as oil-based products that require chemically resistant and inert packaging without undesirable interactions with the contents.
Glass bottles are compatible with various types of closures and dosing systems (for example screw caps, droppers, spray heads or practical applicators) according to the selected parameters in the packaging category. Combinations of packaging and closures that are created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend performing your own compatibility test – to verify sealing, the dosing method and the behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation (viscosity, alcohol content, oil or water base, presence of active ingredients).
All technical parameters of the packaging are given in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
Yes, the glass bottle is suitable for a wide range of homemade and artisan cosmetic preparations, such as toners, serums, facial and body oils or hair tonics. Thanks to the stability of the glass, aqueous and oily formulations can be safely filled, as long as you choose a compatible type of closure or dispenser. For products with a higher content of acids, alcohol or active ingredients, we always recommend carrying out a trial filling and checking the long-term behaviour of the formulation in the packaging.
The packaging can be reused if hygienic principles are observed. Before each new filling, the bottle must be thoroughly cleaned (mechanically rinsed to remove residues of the original contents) and subsequently disinfected with a suitable agent, for example isopropyl alcohol or denatured ethanol. For disinfection, you can use the products IPA 99 % – isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. After disinfection, allow the bottle to vent and dry well so that no residues of alcohol remain inside that could affect the composition of the new product.
When choosing a suitable closure or dispenser, it is necessary to follow the neck parameters of the bottle given with the product. Then select in the relevant closure category a component with the same neck type. On Handymade you can find created and tested combinations of packaging with closures that are designed to seal reliably and ensure comfortable dosing. Nevertheless, we always recommend performing your own test – to check whether the closure seals well during transport, whether it dispenses the required amount and how the specific formulation reacts during long-term storage in the selected combination of packaging and closure.
If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it according to the type of material stated in the product parameters. After emptying and rinsing off any residual contents, separate the glass part of the bottle from any plastic or metal components (closure, pump, spray head). The glass should be placed in a container designated for separate glass collection according to local waste management rules. Recycle closures and other parts according to their material as stated in the parameter table, or hand them over within the separated municipal waste collection system.
On the Handymade website, you can use the advanced filter when selecting, which is located at the top of the page after clicking on the relevant packaging category. Using the filter, you can easily narrow down the range according to parameters that are key for your product – especially according to neck type, size, colour and packaging material. This allows you to quickly find bottles, vials, jars or pots that are suitable for your specific formulation and the desired dosing method.
When filling, pay attention to a clean working environment and the use of suitable tools (funnel, pipette, dosing syringe) in order to minimise contamination. Do not overfill the bottle – leave a small space below the neck for correct closing and for volume compensation during temperature changes. Before closing, check the thread and sealing surfaces so that they are not contaminated with the product. Store in a dry, cooler place away from direct sunlight and heat sources, in accordance with the requirements of your specific formulation and the preservatives used.
