Glass is generally a very stable and inert material, therefore this black matte bottle is also suitable for preparations with a higher alcohol content. For formulations with a high proportion of alcohol, however, we recommend always testing especially the functionality of the spray mechanism – whether there are any changes in dosing, sealing or the movement of the pump during long-term use. Sample filling and testing under real conditions will help you verify whether the selected combination of packaging and formula fully meets your requirements.

The bottle can be reused if basic hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, the bottle and the spray mechanism must be emptied as thoroughly as possible, cleaned with a suitable cleaning agent and rinsed. We then recommend disinfecting the packaging – for example using isopropyl alcohol IPA 99 % or plant-based ethanol Ethanol 96 %. After applying the disinfectant, allow the packaging to dry thoroughly in order to minimize the risk of microbial contamination of the new fill.

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it responsibly. After emptying, the glass part of the bottle should be placed in the appropriate glass container according to local waste sorting rules. The spray mechanism and plastic components are usually separated and placed in the container intended for plastic waste. When recycling, always follow the information given in the parameter table for the specific product on the Handymade website and the local recommendations for sorting municipal waste.

For thicker emulsions or oil blends, the spray mechanism may have different dosing compared to thin aqueous solutions. We therefore recommend carrying out a trial before series filling – filling a smaller amount of product, testing the spraying, droplet size, evenness of application and the long-term passability of the tube. For highly viscous formulations, a different type of dispenser (for example a pump or a dropper) may be more suitable, which can be selected according to the available combinations in the product parameter.
