Is this jar suitable for thick creams and balms?

Yes, the glass jar with an aluminium lid is particularly suitable for thicker creams, butters, balms and ointments. The wide opening makes it easier to take out the product, and the secure closure helps protect the texture from drying out and unwanted contamination during storage and use.

Can I reuse this packaging for new formulations?

The packaging can be reused if hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, the jar and lid must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected with a suitable agent, for example with isopropyl alcohol or with ethanol of plant origin. Only after the disinfectant has completely dried and ventilated is the packaging ready for reuse.

How should I clean the jar properly before further use?

First mechanically remove any residues of the original product, then wash the jar in warm water with a suitable cleaning agent and rinse well. After drying, we recommend disinfecting the packaging with alcohol (for example IPA 99 % or ethanol 96 %). This reduces the risk of microbial contamination of the new fill and supports the stability of the final product.

How can I safely dispose of and recycle this packaging if I no longer wish to use it?

If you decide not to use the jar any longer, we recommend emptying it, removing any product residues and sorting it according to the material specified in the product parameters. The glass container is usually placed in the glass recycling bin and the aluminium lid in the collection for metal packaging, but always follow the local waste separation rules and the recommendations resulting from the material designation given with the product on the Handymade website.
