Product description

Milky glass jar with gold lid is an elegant and practical packaging component suitable for packing various cosmetic and artisan products. Thanks to the reliable screw closure with a gold effect, it ensures an aesthetic presentation of the contents while providing stability during handling and storage. The milky glass helps to limit light penetration, thereby supporting longer-term stability and consistency of more sensitive formulations.

Possible uses

  • packaging of face creams, lip balms, body butters and ointments
  • jar for solid deodorants, cleansing balms, massage bars and waxes
  • practical jar for gel masks, scrubs and clay blends
  • container for smaller quantities of serums, concentrates or trial product samples
  • packaging for DIY cosmetic kits, gift sets and travel sizes

Packaging benefits

  • Material stability – the glass jar is chemically resistant to common cosmetic components such as oils, waxes, emulsifiers and preservatives, thus contributing to formulation stability.
  • Content protection – the milky glass helps reduce the impact of light on the product and, with a properly selected formulation, supports the preservation of colour, fragrance and texture during storage.
  • Aesthetic appearance – the combination of milky glass and a gold lid looks luxurious, which is ideal for premium cosmetic ranges or gift packaging.
  • Universal use – the jar can be used for a wide range of cosmetic products, test samples and smaller artisan items.
  • Reusable – with proper cleaning and disinfection, the jar can be refilled and reused within your own production or hobby projects.

Combining with closures and dispensers

Combinations of packaging and closures that are created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we recommend always carrying out your own compatibility test (sealing, dosing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation). For greasy, highly liquid or more aggressive ingredients, it is advisable to also check the long-term behaviour of the packaging during storage in the chosen environment.

Technical parameters

All technical parameters of the packaging are specified in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.

FAQ – Frequently asked questions

Is this glass jar suitable for oily and oil-based cosmetic products?

Yes, the glass jar is suitable for packing oily and oil-based formulations such as balms, butters or ointments. Glass is a stable material that typically does not react with cosmetic oils, waxes and active substances. For any new formulation, however, we recommend making a trial batch and a short-term storage test to verify how the specific formulation behaves over time.

Can I reuse the jar for further batches of products?

The jar can be reused if correct hygiene practices are followed. Before each new filling, the packaging must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected with a suitable product – for example with isopropyl alcohol IPA 99% or plant-based ethanol Ethanol 96% denatured. Only after complete drying and evaporation of the alcohol is the jar ready for refilling.

How should I correctly clean the glass jar before reusing it?

First mechanically remove any residue of the original product, then wash the jar in warm water with an appropriate cleaning agent and rinse thoroughly so that no detergent residues remain. After drying, we recommend disinfecting the inner surface and the thread using alcohol (ALK001 / ALK002), for example with the products IPA 99% or Ethanol 96% denatured. Once the alcohol has completely evaporated and aired off, the container is ready to be refilled.

How can I safely dispose of and recycle this packaging if I no longer want to use it?

If you decide not to reuse the jar, we recommend recycling it according to the material types specified in the product parameters. The glass part, once cleaned, should be placed in the container designated for glass. The lid should be sorted according to the material specified in the description – usually this is metal or plastic, which belongs in the corresponding collection container. Before handing it over to separated collection, we recommend removing product residues so that recycling can take place efficiently and in accordance with local waste-sorting rules.

You offer many types of packaging – how can I find the right one for my product?

To choose suitable packaging, you can use the advanced filter, which appears at the top of the page after clicking on the relevant packaging category. In the advanced filter, products can be clearly sorted according to several parameters such as neck type, size, colour and material. Thanks to this, you can quickly find bottles, jars, vials or other containers that will best match your specific formulation as well as the visual style of your brand.
