Dark brown glass jar is a professional packaging suitable for filling creams, ointments, balms, solid butters or loose powder products. The dark glass helps protect sensitive formulations from the effects of light and supports the stability of active ingredients during storage. The reliable construction of the jar ensures convenient dispensing even for thicker or more solid formulations, and the elegant appearance is suitable for both manual and small-scale cosmetic production.
The glass jar can be used with compatible closures according to the selected product parameters in the e‑shop. The packaging and closure combinations created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we recommend always performing your own compatibility test – checking the sealing, the suitability of the materials in contact with the specific formulation and the behaviour of the packaging in real use.
All technical parameters of the packaging are specified in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
Yes, the glass jar is suitable for a wide spectrum of natural and handmade cosmetic products such as balms, ointments, creams or firmer body butters. The stable glass material helps minimise interaction between the packaging and the contents, which is particularly important for compositions with a higher proportion of plant oils, waxes and essential oils. When developing a new product, we always recommend producing a trial batch and monitoring the behaviour of the formulation in the packaging during storage.
The jar can be reused if hygienic principles are observed. Before each new filling, the packaging must be thoroughly cleaned, any residues of the previous product removed, and then disinfected with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured, plant-based. Only after the alcohol has completely dried and evaporated is the jar ready for new filling. For professional production, we recommend setting up an internal hygienic cleaning procedure and recording the number of times the packaging is reused.
We recommend storing finished products in a dry and clean environment, away from direct sunlight and sources of heat. The dark brown glass helps reduce the effect of light on the contents, but to maintain quality it is important to keep a stable temperature and always close the jar carefully after use. For natural cosmetics without preservatives, it is appropriate to take into account the storage conditions recommended directly according to the formula used and the product’s minimum shelf life.
If you decide not to reuse the jar, we recommend recycling it in accordance with local waste-sorting rules. The glass container should be emptied, any coarse product residues removed, and placed in the appropriate glass container according to the local collection system. Any plastic or metal parts of the closure must be sorted separately according to their material and local recycling recommendations. By following these steps, you support the reuse of raw materials and reduce the amount of mixed waste.
To choose suitable packaging, we recommend using the advanced filter, which you will find at the top of the page after clicking on the relevant packaging category. In the filter you can combine several parameters – for example the neck type and diameter, packaging size, colour or material. In this way you can easily narrow down the offer to the packaging that is most suitable for the specific product and the desired packaging style. If you are unsure, you can compare several options and start with a smaller test quantity of packaging.
