Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) 70% is an anionic tenside produced from fatty alcohols of natural origin (coconut, palm oil), which is subsequently ethoxylated and sulphonated. It is a highly effective cleansing and foaming ingredient, mainly used in shampoos, shower gels, liquid soaps and cleansers. Its concentrated form (70% active ingredient) makes it ideal for industrial and artisanal cosmetic production, where it is diluted and combined with other tensides to optimize fineness and stability. Dilution is quite difficult, we recommend SLES 26% for easier handling.
Strong cleaning effect - effectively removes grease and dirt.
High foaming power - rich, creamy lather even at low concentrations.
Good compatibility - suitable in combination with amphoteric and non-ionic tensides (e.g. Coco-Betaine) to reduce irritation.
Economical to use - concentrated form (70%) facilitates storage and handling.
Universal use - widely used in personal and home care.

Dosage (approximate):

household cleaners: up to 30 %
Incorporation: added to the aqueous phase with stirring, dilution before mixing with other ingredients is recommended.
Heat resistance: normally stable up to 80 °C.
SLES 70% is the standard among foaming tensides and the basis of most cleaning and washing products in cosmetics and household.
Raw material safety grade according to EWG: 3 - medium risk
Is SLES suitable for sensitive skin?SLES has a strong cleansing effect and can therefore dry or irritate the skin at higher concentrations. In combination with milder tensides (e.g. Coco-Betaine), its irritancy is significantly reduced.
What is the difference between SLES and SLS?SLES (Sodium Laureth Sulfate) contains ethoxylated chains, making it milder than SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate), which is considered more aggressive to the skin.
Can I use SLES in baby cosmetics?Only in low concentrations and always in combination with milder tensides. Even gentler alternatives are more often recommended in the manufacture of children's cosmetics.
Is SLES biodegradable?Yes, SLES is considered to be readily biodegradable.
