Yes, the packaging can be reused with appropriate handling, but we always recommend following basic hygiene principles. Before each new filling, the bottle and the dispenser must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example isopropyl alcohol from the product IPA 99 % isopropyl alkohol or plant-based ethanol from the product Etanol 96 % denaturovaný rastlinný. This reduces the risk of microbial contamination of the new filling and ensures higher safety of the final product.

After emptying the packaging, it is advisable first to rinse the bottle with lukewarm water and a mild cleaning agent and then rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove all residues of the previous filling. We then recommend disinfecting the bottle and the dispenser with an alcohol solution – it is practical to use the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alkohol or Etanol 96 % denaturovaný rastlinný. After treatment with alcohol, allow the packaging to dry naturally at room temperature. For plastic packaging, we do not recommend boiling or using a dishwasher in order to avoid damage.

In this way you can quickly narrow down the offer to packaging that meets your formulation and product design and more easily find a suitable bottle, jar or dropper bottle for the specific purpose.

Plastic packaging made of materials such as PET is not intended for long-term exposure to high temperatures. In contact with excessively hot liquid or when attempting thermal sterilisation, the packaging may become deformed, sealing may deteriorate and the mechanical properties of the bottle or dispenser may change. For this reason, washing in a dishwasher or boiling is not recommended, even for disinfection purposes. When filling, it is advisable to use contents cooled to room temperature and to handle disinfection exclusively with alcohol-based agents, not with heat.

If you decide not to use the packaging any further, we recommend recycling it according to the material specified in the parameter table for the product on the Handymade website. Before handing it over for separate collection, it is advisable to empty and rinse the bottle so that no product residues remain. Then place the plastic packaging in the container designated for plastics according to the local rules for separated waste collection. By assigning it correctly to the relevant waste stream, you support the recycling process and reduce the amount of unnecessary waste. In the case of a combination of several materials (for example a plastic body and a different type of closure), it is advisable to separate the parts before recycling, if technically possible.
