The bottle can be used repeatedly if basic hygiene rules are observed. Before each new filling, we recommend cleaning the packaging thoroughly and subsequently disinfecting it with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured, plant-based. This reduces the risk of microbial contamination of the new product and prolongs its stability in the packaging.

Before repeated use, first rinse the packaging with a suitable cleaning solution or with warm water and a mild detergent, taking care not to damage the plastic material or the sprayer mechanism. We then recommend applying disinfection – rinse the inside of the container and the suction tube with alcohol and press the sprayer several times so that the disinfectant solution passes through the entire mechanism. As a disinfectant you can use, for example, the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured, plant-based. After disinfection, let all parts dry completely at room temperature.

The plastic material of the bottle and sprayer is not intended to be exposed to high temperatures. In contact with hot water, steam or when drying at elevated temperatures, there is a risk of deformation of the packaging and of affecting the sealing and the function of the spray mechanism. For this reason, we do not recommend washing the packaging in the dishwasher or boiling it. For cleaning and disinfection, rather choose gentle hand washing and alcohol-based disinfectant solutions, which are more suitable for the material.

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend placing it in sorted waste according to the type of plastic material specified in the product parameters. Before handing it over for recycling, empty the bottle as much as possible, ideally rinse out any remaining contents, and separate the spray mechanism from the container body, if possible. The bottle itself is usually sorted into the container intended for plastic waste, while the exact method of sorting should be adapted to local collection rules and to the material designation in the product parameter table on the Handymade website.

The sprayer is most suitable for low-viscosity to moderately fluid products that do not tend to clog the nozzle – typically aqueous solutions, hydrolats, light alcohol-based or hydro-alcoholic sprays and gentle emulsion formulations. During the first filling, always monitor the spray pattern (mist/stream), regularity of dosing, product back-suction and any leakage at the thread area. We recommend performing a trial filling with a smaller volume so that you can verify the compatibility of the bottle and sprayer material with the specific composition and, if necessary, adjust the formula or type of packaging.
