Yes, the packaging can be reused if hygiene principles are observed, especially for home cosmetics production or when refilling from larger packs. However, before each new filling, the bottle and the closure must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected in order to minimize the risk of microbial contamination. For disinfection we recommend using a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based, and allowing the surface to dry completely before refilling.

First disassemble the bottle and the closure, remove any residues of the original product and rinse all parts with warm water and a suitable cleansing agent. Then rinse them thoroughly with clean water so that no detergent residues remain. Afterwards, we recommend applying disinfection using an alcohol solution (e.g. isopropyl alcohol or ethanol) and letting the components dry at room temperature on a clean, uncontaminated surface. When cleaning, avoid mechanical damage to the dispensing slit of the disc top closure so that dispensing remains smooth and leak-tight.

Thanks to the “press and open” mechanism, handling is comfortable even with wet hands and the packaging is also suitable for bathroom use or travel, provided it is properly closed.

If you decide not to reuse the bottle, we recommend first emptying it and removing any product residues so that the recycling stream is not contaminated. Then follow the recycling rules listed in the parameter table of the specific product on the page – according to the type of plastic, place it in the appropriate collection container for sorted waste. The closure and the body of the packaging may be made of different materials, so it is advisable to separate and sort them individually, if local sorting conditions allow this.
