The trigger sprayer is most suitable for liquid, low-viscosity preparations that are to be applied in the form of a fine spray – for example cleaning solutions for the household, air fresheners, gardening sprays, gentle cosmetic and body sprays. Before final use we always recommend testing compatibility with the specific composition of the product and verifying that the spraying is even and without clogging of the nozzle.

The sprayer can be reused if hygienic principles are observed. Before each new filling, we recommend thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting the packaging and the trigger mechanism – the use of an alcohol-based disinfectant, for example isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, is suitable. For disinfection you can use products available on Handymade, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alkohol or Ethanol 96 % denaturovaný rastlinný. It is advisable to let the disinfectant solution pass through the spraying mechanism itself and then empty everything thoroughly and let it dry, in order to minimize the risk of microbial contamination.

When choosing a suitable bottle it is important that the bottle neck corresponds to the thread type of the sprayer and that the material of the container is compatible with the formulation you plan to use. All combinations of packaging and sprayer that are created directly within a single product set on the site are tested for functionality. Nevertheless, we recommend your own test, where you verify sealing, dosing, stability during transport and the behaviour of the plastic in contact with your product.

To reduce the risk of nozzle clogging we recommend using clear or well-filtered solutions without larger undissolved particles. In the case of thicker or partially emulsion-type preparations, it is advisable to carry out a long-term functionality test and, if necessary, adjust the formula (for example by reducing the content of solid particles or the viscosity). After using products that tend to dry out, it has proved effective to occasionally flush the mechanism with clean water or with a suitable solvent that is compatible with the given sprayer and bottle material.

If you decide not to use the sprayer any further, we recommend recycling it in accordance with local waste-sorting rules and according to the information about the material listed in the product parameters on Handymade. First remove product residues from the packaging so that no significant liquid residues remain in the container or in the mechanism. Then, where possible, separate the sprayer into individual parts or place it into the fraction corresponding to the plastic used. If you are not sure about the correct categorization, follow the recommendations of the local collection yard or municipal services and the information provided with the product in the e-shop.
