The flat cotton wick with thin wound fibres is produced by processing paper fibre in combination with advanced braiding technology, therefore providing the EKO series with excellent stability without the need for a core. This combination increases the self-cleaning effect and reduces the formation of so-called mushrooming (the burnt wick does not fray and deposits of a mushroom-like shape are not formed on it), soot and smoke. EKO wicks work very well in natural waxes and blends, as well as in paraffin waxes with a low melting temperature.

For the correct selection of the wick it is important to know the diameter of the container for the candle. In the case of a small size, your candle will not burn through to the edge and will create a so‑called tunnel. In the case of a too strong wick, the wax will melt excessively and the entire candle will be melted instead of the wax melting gradually and evenly.
