The plastic bottle is a universal packaging intended for professional and hobby filling of cosmetics and other liquid or slightly viscous preparations. Thanks to high‑quality workmanship and reliable closure, it is suitable for formulations where protection of the contents, easy dosing and hygienic handling are important. The practical shape makes filling and labelling easier, so it is an ideal choice for small brands, artisanal production and home projects.
The plastic bottle without closure is designed to be compatible with various types of closures and dosing options that you can find in our range. Depending on the selected parameters, you can combine it for example with screw caps, dropper inserts, sprayers or practical dosing applicators. Combinations of packaging and closures created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we recommend always carrying out your own compatibility test – checking sealing, dosing and the behaviour of the packaging in contact with your specific formulation. If you decide to use the packaging repeatedly, it is important after each emptying to completely disassemble the closure system (cap, pump or sprayer), wash all parts thoroughly, rinse them and then disinfect them with a suitable alcohol solution, in order to minimise the risk of microbial contamination. In the case of plastic packaging made of PET material, it must be taken into account that PET material should not be exposed to high temperatures. When heated, the packaging may deform, therefore do not wash the bottle or the corresponding closures in a dishwasher and do not boil them. For cleaning and disinfection, prefer gentle hand washing followed by disinfection with alcohol.
All technical parameters of the packaging are given in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters. When planning filling, we recommend basing your work on the data given in the parameters tab so that you can be sure that the selected volume, neck type and recommended use are in accordance with your specific product and the required dosing method. If you decide not to use the packaging any further, we recommend recycling it according to the type of material used stated in the parameter table for the product. Correct sorting according to official recycling markings helps to reduce the amount of waste and enables the plastic material to be reprocessed.
The bottle can be used repeatedly if hygienic principles are observed, especially when making your own cosmetics or when decanting larger packs into travel sizes. However, before each new filling it is necessary to wash the packaging thoroughly, rinse it and then clean and disinfect it with a suitable alcohol‑based product, for example isopropyl alcohol IPA 99 % Isopropyl alkohol or plant ethanol Etanol 96 % denaturovaný rastlinný. By following this procedure you minimise the risk of microbial contamination and extend the service life of the filled product.
Plastic packaging made of PET material should not be exposed to high temperatures. When in contact with hot water or during a high‑temperature dishwasher programme, the walls may deform, mechanical stability may be reduced and the neck may be damaged, which negatively affects the sealing of the closure. Instead of boiling, we recommend gentle hand washing in lukewarm water with a suitable cleaning agent, thorough rinsing and subsequent disinfection with an alcohol solution, which is gentler on this type of packaging and at the same time effective in terms of hygiene.
Before starting filling, we recommend performing your own compatibility test on a smaller quantity. Fill several bottles with your formulation, use the selected type of closure or dispenser and leave the packaging for several days to weeks under the conditions in which the finished product will actually be used (temperature, handling, transport). Monitor sealing, the stability of the plastic, any changes in colour or odour and the behaviour of the dosing mechanism. If even after a longer period you do not observe leakage of contents, deformation or interactions between the material and the product, you can consider the given combination suitable for normal use.
If you decide not to use the bottle any longer, we recommend emptying it, removing any remaining contents and removing any multilayer labels so that the recycling symbols are clearly visible. Then sort the packaging according to the type of plastic stated in the parameter table for the product (for example the appropriate recycling marking for PET). Put it into the container intended for that type of plastic waste. By sorting correctly you enable the material to be reprocessed and reduce the amount of waste going to landfill or incineration.
To easily find a suitable bottle or other packaging, you can use the advanced filter in the categories on Handymade.sk. After clicking on the relevant category, a panel with filtering options appears at the top of the page, where you can set parameters according to your own requirements – for example neck type, size, colour or packaging material. Thanks to this you can quickly narrow down the selection to only those packages that are compatible with your product and the planned dosing method in terms of shape and technical properties.
