The packaging can be reused if hygienic principles are observed, especially in your own home production where you control the entire filling process. Before each refilling, the bottle and cap must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected with a suitable alcohol-based agent, for example isopropyl alcohol (IPA 99%) or plant-derived ethanol (Ethanol 96% denatured plant-based). Only after the inner surfaces are completely dry is the packaging ready for refilling. If you decide not to use the packaging any longer, we recommend recycling it according to the recommendations for the material stated in the product parameters.

First, rinse the bottle mechanically with warm water and a mild detergent to remove residues of the original product. Then rinse the packaging several times with clean water, so that no residues of the cleaning agent remain. After the inner surface has dried, it is important to carry out disinfection using a suitable alcohol, for example IPA 99% or Ethanol 96% denatured plant-based. Allow the alcohol to act and then leave the packaging to air-dry at room temperature. Packaging prepared in this way minimises the risk of microbial contamination of the new product.

Before recycling, first empty the contents as much as possible and rinse the bottle so that no product residues remain. The subsequent method of sorting and recycling is governed by the material specified in the parameter table for the specific product on Handymade.sk (for example, separate sorting of the plastic body and the metal cap). We recommend following local waste-sorting rules – place plastic parts in the container designated for plastics and metal components in metal collection, if this is supported by the system in your municipality. By recycling correctly, you reduce the amount of waste and enable the materials to be reused.
