Glass bottle – vial is a universal packaging component suitable for professional and home packaging of cosmetic and special liquid preparations. Thanks to durable glass, it provides a stable and safe environment for various formulations that require reliable protection and precise dosing. The opaque white glass at the same time naturally helps to protect the contents from the effects of light, which is especially advantageous for more sensitive components that may react to UV radiation.
This type of vial is a popular choice for manufacturers of cosmetics, aromatherapeutic preparations and laboratory samples because it combines an aesthetic appearance, functionality and high material stability. When suitably complemented with the correct type of closure or dispenser, it creates professional packaging that supports the long-term quality and comfortable use of the final product.
The glass bottle – vial alone is compatible with various types of closures and dosing systems according to the selected parameters. You can combine it with screw caps, droppers, sprayers or practical applicators so that the dosing corresponds to the type and viscosity of the product.
Combinations of packaging and closures created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend carrying out your own compatibility test – checking sealing, dosing smoothness, behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation and long-term stability during storage.
All technical parameters of the packaging are listed in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
The glass vial is suitable for most common cosmetic formulations that contain oil-based and aqueous components. The opaque white glass contributes to protecting more sensitive active ingredients from light, which is advantageous for serums, oils or concentrated elixirs. For specially reactive or very acidic/alkaline preparations it is always appropriate to carry out your own stability test and observe the behaviour of the formulation over time.
The packaging can be reused if hygiene principles are followed. Before each new filling it is necessary to thoroughly clean the bottle, remove residues of the original product and then disinfect it with a suitable alcohol-based preparation. For disinfection you can use IPA or ethanol products available in the Handymade range, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. After disinfection, let the inside of the bottle dry completely and only then fill it again.
For a compatibility test we recommend preparing a smaller trial batch of the product and filling it into one or more bottles with the selected type of closure or dispenser. Over several weeks, observe sealing, dosing smoothness, any changes in fragrance, colour or consistency of the product, as well as whether cap moisture or leakage of contents occurs. Store the bottles under the conditions in which the product will actually be used (temperature, light, handling) to obtain relevant results.
If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it according to the type of material indicated in the product parameters. Glass packaging is generally sorted into containers intended for glass, and it is advisable to remove product residues and, if possible, separate a closure or dispenser made of another material (plastic, metal). Always check the specific recycling recommendations in the parameter table for the given product on the Handymade website and adapt them to the local waste sorting rules in your municipality or city.
The simplest way to find suitable packaging is to use the advanced filter in the packaging material categories. The advanced filter is located at the top of the page after clicking on the relevant category (for example bottles, vials, jars). In it you can filter by neck type, size, colour and material, which enables you to quickly narrow the selection to packaging that corresponds to your formulation and to your idea of the product design.
Yes, the glass vial is, thanks to its smaller volume and professional appearance, also suitable for test, sample and gift packaging. It allows you to present new formulations, limited editions or trial packs for customers in an elegant way without the need to use large containers. By choosing the right closure or dropper you can also achieve comfortable and economical dosing, which is particularly important for smaller volumes.
