Product description

The white glass medicine bottle with a glossy silver fine mist sprayer is a ready-made combination of packaging and closure for 100 ml of a liquid cosmetic product that is applied as a spray. The opaque white glass limits the light reaching the contents, and the sprayer dispenses a fine mist without opening the bottle. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics.

It suits facial toners, hydrosols, refreshing body and hair sprays, and perfumed waters. The glossy silver sprayer on the white bottle gives the product a coherent look, so the set also works as retail packaging for small brands and craft production.

How the set works

The bottle has the shape of a medicine bottle with straight walls and a shorter neck, which makes filling and label application easier. The sprayer is plastic with aluminium parts and a glossy silver finish. It includes a dip tube that carries the contents from the bottom of the bottle to the nozzle.

One press releases approximately 0.14 ml of liquid, so the 100 ml volume is divided into several hundred doses. The figure is indicative; the actual dose depends on the density of the contents and the force of the press.

The sprayer is designed for low-viscosity liquids: water-based solutions, hydrosols, alcohol-based solutions and very light liquid emulsions. Thick creams, gels and pure oils will either not pass through the nozzle or will not atomise into a mist. If you are using your own recipe, we recommend testing the behaviour of the nozzle before filling a larger batch.

What it is suitable for

  • Facial toners and hydrosols – the water-based contents are applied directly to the skin without your hands touching the product.
  • Sprays for hair – the 100 ml volume is enough for hair tonics, light leave-in conditioners or sprays with hydrosol and glycerine.
  • Perfumed and refreshing waters – alcohol-based fragrance solutions spray well through the nozzle, and the white glass protects the fragrance composition from light.
  • Refreshing body sprays – light water-based or water-alcohol recipes are dispensed in small amounts.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed for under normal filling, in this case 100 ml. The total brimful volume is the physical space up to the neck. The difference between the two values leaves room for the submerged dip tube of the sprayer, the air above the liquid, and any expansion of the contents when the temperature changes.

Fill the bottle up to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If it is filled up to the neck, the contents will overflow when the sprayer is fitted.

Good to know

Before the first filling, wash the bottle, rinse it with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol and let it dry completely. Flush the sprayer by pumping clean water through it and then air, so that no moisture remains in the tube and nozzle. The same procedure applies for repeated use. When you change the type of contents or fragrance, we recommend replacing at least the sprayer.

Glass is resistant to alcohol and essential oils, but for the plastic parts of the sprayer it depends on the specific recipe. Therefore test the tightness of the set and the quality of the mist with the finished product, ideally also after several weeks of storage.

The set is declared for cosmetic products. Neither the bottle nor the sprayer is approved for direct contact with food, so do not use it for oils, syrups or drinks.

Fill the bottle with finished toners and sprays once they have cooled. Do not pour the hot phase into the bottle straight from the pot, and do not fill a cold bottle with hot liquid.

For recycling, the sprayer is unscrewed from the bottle. The glass belongs in glass collection; the sprayer is a combination of plastic and aluminium and is sorted according to the rules in your municipality.

If you want to replace the sprayer with another closure, the Handymade range includes closures with the same neck type as well as other ready-made sets. With your own combination, check the tightness and dispensing with your specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

Does the white medicine bottle with a sprayer protect the contents from light?
Yes, white glass is opaque and limits the light reaching the contents. For hydrosols, toners with vitamins or perfumed waters with sensitive fragrance components, this is an advantage over clear glass. The disadvantage is that the fill level cannot be seen from outside, and the amount can only be estimated by weight or by lifting the bottle.
Can oil or a thick emulsion be dispensed through the silver sprayer?
No, the sprayer is designed for water-based and alcohol-based liquids with low viscosity. Pure oil comes out of the nozzle as a stream or drops, and thick emulsions and gels clog the nozzle. Very light liquid emulsions may work, but the behaviour of a specific recipe needs to be tested. For oils, a bottle with a dropper or a pump is more suitable.
How many sprays does the 100 ml medicine bottle with a sprayer give?
With an indicative dose of 0.14 ml per press, 100 ml of contents gives approximately 700 sprays. The actual number depends on how thick the liquid is and how firmly the sprayer is pressed. For toners and hydrosols, where two to three doses are applied per use, the bottle lasts for several months of daily use.
Is the set of a white medicine bottle with a sprayer suitable for alcohol-based solutions, for example perfumed water?
Yes, glass resists alcohol, and alcohol-based solutions spray well through the sprayer. For recipes with a high proportion of essential oils or solvents, monitor the condition of the seal and the sprayer nozzle after longer storage. If you are unsure about the tightness, let the filled set stand for several weeks and check it before sale.
How do you prepare a bottle with a sprayer for reuse?
Wash the bottle with warm water and detergent, rinse it with ethanol and let it dry. Flush the sprayer by immersing it in clean water and pumping several times, then pump it empty to push out the remaining water. When you change the fragrance or product type, we recommend a new sprayer; the bottle can be used again after washing.
