FAQ – Frequently asked questions

Is this bottle suitable for thick creams as well as lighter emulsions?

Yes, the dispenser is designed to handle standard cosmetic creams, gels and lighter emulsions. For very thick or highly viscous formulations, we recommend performing a trial filling before final filling in order to verify smooth dosing and the back-suction of the product into the pump.

Can I reuse this medicine bottle for different products?

The packaging can be reused if strict hygiene rules are observed. Before each new filling, the bottle and the dispenser must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, ideally with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, for example with the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. At the same time, we recommend reusing the packaging for a similar type of product (for example consistently cosmetic creams) in order to minimise the risk of residual odours or ingredients.

How should I fill the bottle correctly so that the dispenser works optimally?

We recommend filling the bottle in a clean workspace, after prior cleaning and drying of the packaging. It is ideal to fill the cream or emulsion using a syringe, funnel or filling device so as to minimise aeration of the product. After screwing on the dispenser, the pump must be pressed several times until the system fills with product and starts dosing. When filling, leave a small air gap under the neck in order to ensure correct functioning of the pump.

How can I safely dispose of or recycle this packaging if I do not want to use it further?

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it according to the type of material stated in the parameter table for the product on the Handymade website. Before placing it in sorted waste, it is advisable to empty the bottle and the dispenser, wipe off any remaining product and at least lightly rinse the packaging. Then sort the components into the appropriate containers according to the recommended recycling symbol given in the product parameters.
