The glass bottle with spray pump represents a professional packaging suitable for various cosmetic and technical formulations where gentle and even application is required. Thanks to the high-quality glass and practical mechanical spray pump, the bottle is ideal for filling liquids that need to be dosed hygienically in the form of a spray. At the same time, the dark glass helps protect sensitive components from light, which supports the stability of the contents during storage and use.
The packaging can be reused if hygiene principles are followed. Before each filling, the bottle and spray pump must be thoroughly cleaned, rinsed and then disinfected with a suitable alcohol-based preparation (for example isopropyl alcohol or ethanol). For disinfection you can use products available on Handymade, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. After disinfection, let all parts dry completely and only then fill and assemble them again.
The mechanical spray pump is most suitable for liquids with low to medium viscosity that need to be applied in a fine film or mist – for example facial and body sprays, hair tonics, aromatic room mists or fabric refreshers. For thick emulsions, gels or oils with very high viscosity, dosing may be limited, therefore it is advisable to test the functionality of the spray pump with the specific recipe before filling.
Glass is generally a very stable packaging material suitable also for formulations containing alcohol or essential oils. When using the spray pump, however, it is always necessary to verify the compatibility of the plastic parts of the mechanism with the specific composition – especially with a high proportion of alcohol or with high concentrations of strong aromatic substances. We recommend filling a smaller test amount, and monitoring over a longer period the functionality of the spray pump, the sealing and any changes in the material.
If you do not plan to use the bottle and spray pump further, it is recommended to recycle them according to the material stated in the product parameters. After rinsing, the glass part is usually placed in the glass container, the plastic parts of the spray pump in the separated plastic waste, unless local rules state otherwise. Before handing over for collection, remove product residues to make processing in the recycling process easier. Always check the specific recommendations in the parameter table for the product and adapt them to the local waste sorting system.
