Aluminium Bottle, Black Spray, 225 ml

The aluminium bottle with a black mini trigger sprayer is a ready-made packaging solution for toners, hydrosols, face and body mists and other liquid products applied by spraying. The set consists of an opaque aluminium bottle with a nominal volume of 225 ml and a plastic mini trigger sprayer with a 24/410 neck finish. The bottle is light and unbreakable, and the metal does not let light through, so contents sensitive to sunlight and daylight stay protected wherever the bottle is placed. The black sprayer has a ribbed collar that gives a good grip when tightening and unscrewing.

Both components of the set are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products. This set is not intended for contact with food.

What it is suitable for

The mini trigger sprayer turns liquids with low viscosity into a mist, so the set works well for products that are applied over a wide area without rubbing in:

• Face toners and hydrosols – water-based products for refreshing and finishing the cleansing of the skin, where protection from light is also useful.
• Hair sprays and hair tonics – alcohol-based or water-based solutions for the lengths and the scalp.
• Body mists and refreshing sprays – the larger bottle volume is enough for several weeks of use.
• Room fragrance sprays – alcohol-based fragrance compositions, which the sprayer disperses evenly.

A mini trigger sprayer does not turn thick serums, emulsions and pure vegetable oils into a mist. With oil-based or thickened products, the dose is more likely to come out as a jet, or the nozzle may become blocked.

How the set works

The sprayer draws the contents up through a dip tube that reaches the bottom of the bottle, and one press dispenses approximately 0.14 ml of liquid. The small dose allows gentle application to the face without dripping. The tube is longer than the height of the bottle, so it covers the whole bottom. If it bends when you fit it, it can be shortened with a sharp knife.

The bottle is filled up to the nominal volume, not to the brim. The nominal volume is the amount the packaging is designed for under normal filling. The brimful volume is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck, and you can find it in the product parameters. The difference between the two values leaves room for the tube and the sprayer mechanism and for possible expansion of the contents when the temperature changes.

Good to know

Aluminium is opaque, so you cannot see how much of the contents is left. Estimate the remainder by weight or by when the sprayer starts to draw in air.

Water-based products with a strongly acidic or alkaline pH and products with a high proportion of essential oils may affect both the metal and the plastic differently from ordinary toners. The sprayer is made of polypropylene and the bottle of aluminium. For your own formulation, we recommend testing how the packaging behaves on a trial piece: after several weeks, check the fragrance, the colour of the contents, the tightness of the seal and whether the nozzle is clear.

After washing, the bottle can be reused. For recycling, the aluminium bottle belongs with metals and the sprayer with plastics, so separate them before disposal.
