Product description

The 225 ml aluminium bottle with a white cap is a ready-made set for liquid cosmetic products that are dispensed by pouring. The aluminium body blocks out light, so vegetable oils and oil blends with essential oils stay protected wherever the bottle is kept. The bottle is lightweight and does not break if dropped, which is useful for bathroom products, the massage table or travel. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products, and the declaration of conformity is available with the product.

What the set includes

  • Aluminium bottle, 225 ml – silver body with a 24/410 neck finish, opaque, lightweight and impact-resistant.
  • Plastic cap, ribbed, white – screw-on polypropylene closure with an EPE foam liner. The ribbing around the edge makes the cap easier to unscrew, even with wet or oily hands.

The cap screws directly onto the neck of the bottle, and the liner sits against the rim of the neck and seals the contents. The product is dispensed by unscrewing the cap and pouring from the neck, without any additional dispensing element.

What it is suitable for

The 225 ml volume suits products that are dispensed in larger amounts at a time:

  • Massage and body oils – protection from light slows the yellowing of oils, and the open neck lets you pour a larger amount into the palm.
  • Hair oil treatments, after-bath oils and shower oils – the contents are poured into the water or directly onto the skin.
  • Cleansing oils and oil cleansers – the opaque packaging also hides any discolouration of the contents.
  • Professional packs for salons – the product is decanted from the bottle into smaller pump bottles.

The 24/410 neck finish is a widely used thread type, so the cap can be replaced with a closure that dispenses in a different way. You can find closures with the same neck type and ready-made combinations in the Handymade range. If you make your own combination, we recommend checking the seal and the dispensing with your specific formulation.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume of 225 ml is the amount the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The total brim-full volume, given in the parameters, is the physical capacity of the bottle up to the neck. The difference between them is a reserve for the cap liner and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If the bottle is overfilled, the contents overflow when the cap is screwed on and the liner gets contaminated.

Information about the inner coating of the bottle is not available. For water-based, alcohol-based, acidic or alkaline formulations, therefore, test how the packaging behaves on a small sample of the product beforehand, as aluminium without an inner protective layer may react with such contents. Anhydrous oil products are the least problematic from this point of view.

Good to know

Before filling for the first time, wash the bottle and the cap, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave them to dry completely. No water may remain inside the bottle, otherwise droplets and cloudiness will appear in an oil product.

Aluminium conducts heat, so do not pour hot mixtures into the bottle. Let them cool to room temperature first. When cleaning, avoid rough sponges and abrasive products, which scratch the surface. Check the liner in the cap after washing. If it is compressed or deformed, the closure no longer seals and it is better to replace it.

With concentrated blends of essential oils or pure essential oils, check the cap liner from time to time to see whether it is softening or letting the fragrance escape.

The bottle is intended for repeated use as long as it is not deformed and the inside is clean. At the end of its life, the aluminium belongs in metal recycling, and the cap is unscrewed and sorted separately as plastic.

Frequently asked questions

Does the aluminium bottle protect the contents from light?
Yes, the aluminium bottle is completely opaque and does not let any light through the wall. It is therefore suitable for vegetable oils, oil serums and blends with essential oils, which oxidise faster in light and change their fragrance. Amber or blue glass only reduces the light, whereas the aluminium wall blocks all of it. The drawback is that you cannot see how much of the contents is left.
Is the 225 ml aluminium bottle suitable for water-based toners or hydrosols?
We do not recommend it without testing. Information about the inner protective layer of the bottle is not available, and untreated aluminium may react with water-based, acidic or alkaline contents. If you want to use the bottle for a water-based product, first fill a small sample and after a few weeks check the inside of the bottle as well as the appearance and fragrance of the contents. Anhydrous oils are a safe choice from this point of view.
How much fits in the 225 ml aluminium bottle?
Fill to the nominal volume of 225 ml, not up to the neck. The total brim-full volume is larger, and you can find the exact value in the product parameters. The difference serves as a reserve for the cap liner and for the expansion of the contents during temperature fluctuations. An overfilled bottle overflows when the cap is screwed on, and the liner stops sealing cleanly.
Can the aluminium bottle with the cap be washed and reused?
Yes, the set is intended for repeated use. Wash the bottle with warm water and washing-up liquid, rinse it, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave it to dry completely with the neck facing down. Do not use rough sponges or abrasive products. Check the liner in the cap. A deformed liner no longer seals, and the cap needs to be replaced.
What other closure can be used on the 225 ml aluminium bottle?
The bottle has a 24/410 neck finish, so any closure with the same neck type can be screwed onto it, for example a pump or a fine mist sprayer. You can find suitable closures and ready-made combinations in the Handymade range. If you make your own combination, we recommend checking the seal and the dispensing with your specific product, especially with thicker oils, which may not pass through a fine mist sprayer.
