The packaging can be used repeatedly if basic hygiene principles are followed and after assessing the compatibility of the material with the specific type of formulation. Before each new filling, we recommend thoroughly cleaning the bottle, rinsing it and then disinfecting it with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example isopropyl alcohol from the product IPA 99 % isopropyl alkohol or plant ethanol from the product Etanol 96 % denaturovaný rastlinný. This will reduce the risk of microbial contamination and of transferring residues of the original contents into the new refill.

To maintain reliable operation of the trigger sprayer, it is important to flush the mechanism after using thicker or oilier blends. We recommend disassembling the bottle, rinsing the container and spraying the mechanical part of the sprayer several times with clean water or a suitable solvent that is compatible with the formulation used. For long-term storage, it is practical to lock the sprayer (if the mechanism allows it) and store the bottle in an upright position to avoid unnecessary pressure on the seals and dip tube.

The aluminium bottle is suitable for various aqueous and some alcoholic solutions, home sprays and cosmetic preparations, but it is always necessary to verify the compatibility of the specific formulation with the packaging material. Products with very low or very high pH, a high content of aggressive solvents or specific active substances may require special testing. We recommend preparing a smaller test batch, filling the bottle, monitoring any changes (colour, odour, leakage, changes in sprayer operation) and only then moving on to full filling.

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it according to the material designation given in the product parameters. The aluminium body of the bottle is classified in most sorting systems as metal packaging, which belongs in the container intended for metals. The trigger sprayer consists of a combination of plastic and metal parts, so it is usually not possible to recycle it as a monomaterial in standard sorting; therefore follow the local waste sorting rules and the information in the product parameter table on the Handymade website. Before handing over for recycling, it is recommended to empty the packaging and dispose of any remaining contents in accordance with the nature of the product used.
