Amber Glass Bottle, Slim, Gold White Dropper, 50 ml

This amber glass medicine bottle with a volume of 50 ml and a white and gold dropper is used for filling and precisely dispensing liquid cosmetic products drop by drop. The amber glass filters light and so protects contents that are sensitive to UV radiation, while the dropper draws up only as much as you are about to apply. The set is particularly suitable for facial serums, oil serums, blends of vegetable and essential oils, tinctures and concentrates of active ingredients, that is, for products where a small dose and protection from light matter.

The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics. Only the glass medicine bottle on its own has a certificate for direct food contact, the dropper does not, so the set as a whole is intended for cosmetic products.

How the set works

The dropper screws onto the medicine bottle like an ordinary closure, and the bottle has an 18/410 neck finish. The glass tube reaches deep into the bottle and its length matches the tall shape of the bottle, so it draws up the contents even when the level is low. The silicone bulb draws in the liquid when you squeeze and release it, and the liquid is then dispensed in individual drops directly onto your palm or skin. The white top with a gold detail gives the finished product a uniform look.

The tall, slim shape takes up less space on a shelf than a wide bottle of the same volume and sits comfortably in one hand when you apply the serum.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume of 50 ml is the amount the medicine bottle is designed for in normal filling. The total brim-full volume given in the parameters is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them is a reserve for the glass tube of the dropper, which displaces part of the space, and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. For this reason, fill the bottle to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If it is overfilled, the contents are pushed out through the neck when the dropper is inserted and soil the thread, which impairs the seal.

What it is suitable for

• Facial and oil serums – a dose of a few drops is applied precisely, without dripping down the neck.
• Essential oil blends and aromatherapy blends – the dark glass slows down the degradation of light-sensitive components.
• Tinctures and alcohol extracts – the glass does not react with alcohol or with concentrated plant extracts.
• Concentrates of active ingredients – for example vitamin oil solutions or drops for a face mask, where a small measured amount is added.

Thick gels and creams are less suitable. The dropper does not draw them up or dispense them evenly, and for such textures a jar or a bottle with a pump is more suitable.

Good to know

Before the first filling, we recommend washing the medicine bottle and the dropper, disinfecting them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leaving them to dry completely. Residual water in the tube or in the thread would introduce moisture into an anhydrous oil product, and with it the risk of microbial growth.

Glass does not tolerate sudden temperature changes. Let warm contents cool to approximately room temperature before filling, and do not fill the medicine bottle directly from a hot container. With concentrated essential oils and solvents, we recommend checking the condition of the silicone bulb after a few weeks, as its behaviour depends on the particular blend.

The set can be used repeatedly. When refilling, you need to take the dropper apart, rinse the tube, wash the bulb and leave everything to dry. When changing the contents, especially from a fragranced blend to an unscented serum, bear in mind that the silicone may retain the original scent.

After use, the medicine bottle goes into glass waste. The dropper is separated from it and sorted separately, because it combines plastic, silicone, glass and metal.
