Product description
Type B glass dropper vial, tall, 10 ml with a black cap and dropper is a complete set of a small glass bottle, plastic dropper, and screw cap, ready for products dispensed drop by drop. Suitable for essential oils and their blends, oil-based and water-based facial serums, tinctures, perfume concentrates, or test samples where precise dispensing of small amounts is essential.
The bottle is made of amber glass, which filters light and helps protect contents sensitive to oxidation. Essential oils, oil serums with vitamins, or botanical extracts will retain their scent and colour longer than in clear glass. The tall, slender shape fits comfortably in the hand, is easy to control when dispensing individual drops, and takes up little space on a shelf or in a shipment.
How the set works
- Dropper – a clear polypropylene insert pressed into the bottle neck. It has a longer stem suited to the tall shape of the vial, so it reaches deeper toward the bottom and contents can be drawn reliably even with a small residual amount. When tilted or turned upside down, the contents flow out drop by drop, not in a stream.
- Cap – a black plastic screw closure that seals the set and prevents evaporation. It sits discreetly against the amber glass and lets the label stand out.
- Bottle – amber glass, chemically resistant to oils, alcohol, and water-based solutions, with no effect on the scent or colour of the contents.
The set as a whole is intended for cosmetic products. All three components carry a declaration of suitability for contact with cosmetics, and the relevant documentation is available with the product. A food-contact certificate for direct food contact is issued separately for the glass bottle only. The dropper and cap do not carry this certificate, so the set as a whole is not used for food products.
Nominal and total volume
We state two volume values for each container, and it is useful to distinguish between them. Nominal volume is the amount the bottle is intended for in standard filling – in this case 10 ml. Total brim-fill volume is the physical volume up to the neck and is always larger. The difference between them is the allowance needed for the dropper stem inserted into the neck and for possible expansion of the contents with temperature change. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim – otherwise the contents would overflow when the dropper is pressed in.
For oil serums and essential oils, fill the vial with the dropper removed, using a syringe, a small measuring cup, or a funnel with a narrow spout. Press the dropper into the neck only after filling, then screw on the cap.
Suitable for products such as
- Essential oils and fragrance blends – the dropper allows dispensing drop by drop into a diffuser, bath, or carrier oil.
- Oil-based and water-based serums – a few drops are enough for the skin, delivered precisely by the dropper without unnecessary finger contact with the contents.
- Tinctures and botanical concentrates in an alcohol base – glass does not react with alcohol and does not absorb scent.
- Perfume compositions and fragrance concentrates – for measuring out small doses into a product.
- Samples and test batches – the small volume is practical for trying a new formula before producing larger quantities.
Good to know
Preparation before first use. We recommend washing the container, sanitising it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and leaving it to dry completely. Residual water in the neck or in the dropper could dilute anhydrous products and increase the risk of microbial contamination in water-based formulations.
Reuse. The glass bottle can be used again after thorough cleaning. The dropper has a narrow channel in which residue from the previous contents may remain, so when changing products it is advisable to replace both the dropper and the cap with new ones.
Behaviour of plastic parts. Both the dropper and the cap are made from common polyolefins that tolerate oils, alcohol, and water-based solutions without issue. With concentrated essential oils with a high proportion of terpenes (such as citrus oils) and with strong solvents, we recommend verifying the dropper's behaviour with prolonged contact with the specific formulation, or storing the contents without the dropper and inserting it only before use.
Labelling. The tall cylindrical shape offers a narrower but taller area for a label. The bottle dimensions are listed in the product parameters.
Other closures. Closures with the same neck type and other ready-made bottle-and-closure combinations are available in the Handymade range. For a custom combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dispensing behaviour, and compatibility of the packaging with the specific formulation.
Glass tolerates sudden temperature changes poorly. Allow a hot mixture to cool before filling, and do not place the vial directly from cold into hot water – there is a risk of cracking.
Recycling. The glass bottle belongs in glass recycling; the plastic dropper and cap, once separated, belong in plastic recycling.
