Product description
A glass dropper bottle with a nominal volume of 100 ml and a black cap with a dropper is a ready-made set for liquid preparations dosed by drops or in small quantities. Glass does not react with the contents and neither absorbs nor passes on scents, making it suitable for blends with essential oils or alcohol.
The 100 ml capacity is well suited to products with higher usage: facial, body and hair oils, beard oils, tonics and cosmetic herbal extracts. It also works for storing your own liquid ingredients and pre-mixed blends from which small amounts are drawn off by drop during production.
Dosing and sealing
The dropper in the cap slows the flow, so the contents can be dispensed drop by drop and the bottle will not spill immediately if knocked over. It works best with thin to medium-viscosity liquids such as aqueous and alcoholic solutions or light vegetable oils. Thick oils and gels flow slowly through it, so it is advisable to test dispensing with the specific formulation beforehand.
The cap screws onto the neck and seals the bottle when tightened. Do not touch the dropper to skin or work surfaces to keep it clean.
Nominal and total volume
Nominal volume is the quantity the bottle is designed to hold under normal filling. Total volume to the brim is the physical capacity up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference provides clearance for the dropper and for expansion of the contents when temperature changes.
Fill the bottle to the nominal volume, not to the brim. Overfilling causes the dropper to force contents through the thread, leaving the bottle greasy or sticky after closing.
Suitable contents
The set is suitable for contact with cosmetic products; the relevant declaration is listed in the parameters. Glass withstands aqueous, alcoholic and oil-based contents. The cap with dropper is made of polyethylene (PE), which handles common cosmetic liquids well. With concentrated essential oils and solvents, we recommend testing its behaviour under prolonged contact.
The food-contact certification applies to the glass bottle on its own; the cap with dropper does not hold this certification. The complete set is therefore intended for cosmetics, not for food use.
Closures with the same neck type (listed in the parameters) and other ready-made combinations are available in the Handymade range. When building your own combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dosing performance and packaging behaviour with the specific formulation.
What to know before filling
- Preparation – before first filling, wash both bottle and cap, sanitise with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Water residues shorten the shelf life of anhydrous oil blends.
- Glass and heat – glass does not tolerate sudden temperature changes. Allow hot contents to cool before pouring into a cold bottle.
- Cap and heat – the plastic cap with dropper should not be boiled or dried at high temperature; alcohol is sufficient for sanitising it.
- Labelling – labels adhere well to dry, degreased glass. The dimensions needed for label design are listed in the parameters.
- Recycling – glass and the plastic cap are sorted separately.
