Product description

The amber plastic bottle with a volume of 300 ml and a matte black cap form a ready-made set for filling with liquid cosmetic products that are dispensed by pouring or decanting. The dark colour of the bottle reduces the amount of light reaching the contents, which you will appreciate with oils, hydrosols and products containing essential oils, which lose their scent more quickly in light. The PET material is lightweight and unbreakable, so the bottle withstands transport, travel and everyday handling in the bathroom or workshop.

The screw cap with a 24/410 neck finish closes the bottle without a dispensing mechanism. The set is therefore suitable wherever you need to seal the contents, carry them or store them, and pour them as required. The matte black colour of the cap looks understated on the amber bottle and goes well with simple, minimalist product labelling.

Bottle and cap as one set

Both parts have the same neck finish, so the cap fits the bottle without trial and error and closes when tightened by hand. The cap is made of polypropylene (PP) and has a declaration of suitability for contact with cosmetic products. No such separate declaration is available for the bottle, so the set as a whole is not declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics. We recommend testing how the packaging behaves with your specific formulation, especially for products with a higher proportion of alcohol or fragrance ingredients, in a trial fill before a larger production run.

You can find other closures with the same neck finish, as well as ready-made combinations of this bottle with a different closure, in the Handymade range. If you make your own combination, check the tightness and dispensing with your actual contents.

What the set is suitable for

  • Hydrosols and toners – the dark bottle limits the effect of light on sensitive water-based products, and the contents can be conveniently poured into smaller bottles with a sprayer.
  • Massage and body oils – a volume of 300 ml matches typical consumption for massages, and the oil is poured directly into the palm or a bowl.
  • Bath oils and salt solutions – the simple cap copes with products that are dispensed in larger amounts at a time.
  • Workshop stock bottles – oil blends, prepared water phases or dissolved active ingredients waiting for further processing are protected from light and dust in a closed dark bottle.
  • Refill supplies – liquid soap, shower gel or shampoo in a bulk pack from which the customer tops up a smaller pump bottle.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume is the volume the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The total brimful volume is the physical volume up to the neck, and you will find it in the parameters. The difference between them is a reserve for the cap and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If you fill it to the neck, it may overflow when the cap is screwed on.

Good to know

Before the first filling, wash the bottle and the cap, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave them to dry completely.

Allow the contents to cool before filling. Protect the bottle from heat during storage as well; the recommended range is 5–30 °C.

Once empty, the bottle can be washed and reused. Before refilling, check that the thread of the cap still seals properly and that no odour of the previous contents remains in the bottle.

Do not expose the bottle to aggressive chemicals. For products with a high proportion of undiluted essential oils, perfume compositions or solvents, we recommend testing how the packaging behaves in a trial fill before you pour a whole batch into it.

The bottle is made of PET and the cap of PP. Both materials are commonly recycled, and it is enough to separate them when sorting.

Frequently asked questions

Does the 300 ml amber plastic bottle protect the contents from light?
The amber colour of the PET bottle limits the amount of light reaching the contents, but it does not block it completely. For oils, hydrosols and products with essential oils, this is an advantage over clear plastic, because light accelerates the loss of scent and oxidation. Even so, store the bottle away from direct sunlight.
Can a hot product be filled into the amber plastic bottle with a black cap?
No, let the contents cool to room temperature before pouring. The bottle should be protected from heat, which applies when filling emulsions, gels and oils, and equally during storage. The recommended temperature range for storage is 5–30 °C, and the bottle should not be exposed to direct sunlight.
How much fits in the 300 ml bottle if I fill it to the brim?
The total brimful volume is greater than the nominal 300 ml, and you will find it in the parameters. The difference is a reserve for the cap and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes, which is why the bottle is filled only to the nominal volume. If you fill it right up to the neck, the contents may overflow when the cap is screwed on.
Is the 300 ml amber PET bottle suitable for both oils and water-based products?
The PET bottle with a cap is used for vegetable and massage oils as well as for hydrosols, toners and liquid soaps. For products with a high proportion of undiluted essential oils, perfume compositions or solvents, we recommend checking how the packaging behaves in a trial fill. The bottle should not be exposed to aggressive chemicals.
Does the set with an amber bottle and a 24/410 black cap have a declaration of suitability for cosmetics?
Only the cap has a declaration of suitability for contact with cosmetic products. No such declaration is available for the bottle, so the set as a whole is not declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics. We recommend checking compatibility with your specific formulation in a trial fill before producing a larger batch.
Can I use a closure other than the black cap on the 24/410 amber plastic bottle?
Yes, closures with the same 24/410 neck finish fit the bottle, for example sprayers or pumps from the Handymade range. If you make your own combination, check the tightness and whether the closure can handle the viscosity of your product. Thin hydrosols behave differently from thicker oils and lotions.
