Product description

Plastic bottle with pump dispenser for creams, lotions and liquid soaps

Ready-to-fill kit for your own cosmetics: brown plastic bottle with a volume of 100 ml and a white-gold pump dispenser with a 24/410 neck finish. Suitable wherever the contents need to be dispensed in small, repeatable doses without opening the packaging – for body lotions, light creams, facial serums, liquid soaps, cleansing gels or massage oils.

The bottle is made of PET, it is lightweight and unlike glass will not break, which is especially appreciated by customers who ship or travel with their cosmetics. The dispenser combines white plastic with a gold aluminium component, giving even a simple home formulation a polished appearance suitable for selling or gifting. Both components are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products; a declaration of conformity is available with the product.

Why choose this kit

  • Hygienic dispensing – the contents are dispensed by pressing; fingers do not enter the packaging and the product is less exposed to air and microbial contamination than in a jar.
  • Light protection – the brown plastic limits light exposure to the contents, which slows the yellowing of oils and the loss of efficacy of sensitive active ingredients.
  • Measured dose – one press dispenses approximately 1 ml, which simplifies dosing of serums and more concentrated preparations and makes it easy to give usage instructions on the label.
  • Practical volume – 100 ml is a sensible size for facial and body products that are used up within a few weeks, as well as for samples from larger batches.
  • Coordinated design – the brown bottle with the white-gold dispenser looks cohesive and requires no further styling; a label is all it needs.

Which products are suitable for it

The dispenser works best with liquid and semi-liquid contents: body and facial lotions, light to medium-consistency creams, water-based and oil-based serums, liquid soaps, micellar waters, cleansing gels, leave-in conditioners, body and massage oils. Oil-based products dispense reliably, but the dispenser refills more slowly after pressing, so press at a steady, unhurried pace.

Less suitable are very thick butters and creams with a high wax content, which the dispenser struggles to draw up or cannot pump at all, and products with solid particles (scrubs, granular masks) that may clog the valve. For watery contents such as toners, the dispenser works, but the dose flows out quickly – a spray bottle is usually more practical for toners.

Before filling a full batch, check whether your formulation flows smoothly through the dispenser. Thick emulsions and preparations containing waxes may block the dispenser or produce uneven doses. At borderline viscosities, slightly diluting the oil phase or reducing the thickener dosage can help.

Nominal and total volume

The bottle has a nominal volume of 100 ml – this is the quantity the packaging is designed for under normal filling conditions and the figure stated on the label. The total volume to the brim is the physical capacity up to the neck and is larger; the exact value is in the product parameters. The difference between them is the allowance for the dispenser and its dip tube, for the fill level after screwing on the pump, and for slight expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim; otherwise some contents will overflow when the dispenser is fitted and the pump will prime less easily.

What is good to know when filling and using

The dip tube is longer than the bottle height so it can be adapted to different bottles with the same neck finish. Before first use, trim it with a sharp knife or scissors so that it ends just above the bottom of the bottle and rests lightly against it.

Cut the tube at an angle and err on the side of a millimetre too long rather than too short – it will bend slightly at the bottom of the bottle and draw out the contents right to the end. After the first fill, press the dispenser several times until it primes and starts dispensing the product.

Before first filling, wash and sanitise both the bottle and the dispenser with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, allow to dry completely, and only then fill. Residual moisture in the packaging is an unnecessary risk for formulations with a water phase, and will cause cloudiness in anhydrous oil-based products. The kit is reusable: once empty, rinse the dispenser by pumping clean water through it several times and leave to dry; a mild detergent will remove oil residues.

PET handles common cosmetic bases including emulsions, vegetable oils, glycerin and alcohol-based toners. With a high content of essential oils, D-limonene or when using solvents, we recommend a compatibility test in advance, as concentrated substances of this type can gradually degrade the plastic. Do not expose the bottle to hot contents – fill emulsions only after they have cooled down, as PET deforms at higher temperatures.

The kit is intended for cosmetics; it is not approved for contact with food, so choose a different container for home oils or syrups. Closures with the same 24/410 neck finish and other ready-made combinations are available in the Handymade range; for custom combinations, we recommend testing the seal and dispensing performance with the specific formulation. The bottle is made of recyclable PET; the dispenser combines plastic with aluminium, so please separate them before disposal.

Frequently asked questions

Does the brown plastic bottle with pump protect the contents from light?
Yes, the brown pigmentation of the plastic dampens visible light and reduces its access to the contents. It is not complete darkness, so it is still advisable to store the finished product out of direct sunlight, but for formulations containing vegetable oils, vitamins or essential oils a brown bottle is more suitable than a clear one. At the same time, you cannot see the remaining contents, which is something to bear in mind when selling.
How thick can products be when filling a bottle with a 24/410 pump dispenser?
The dispenser reliably dispenses liquid and medium-consistency products: lotions, serums, liquid soaps, gels, oils and lighter creams. Very thick butters, wax-heavy creams and products with solid particles will strain or clog the dispenser. If unsure, fill one unit and check whether the contents dispense evenly; if there are problems, adjust the viscosity of the formulation.
Why is the 100 ml bottle not filled to the brim?
Because the nominal volume of 100 ml is the fill volume, not the capacity to the neck. The total volume of the bottle is larger and the difference serves as an allowance for the pump dip tube, the fill level after fitting the pump, and the slight expansion of the contents with temperature changes. If filled to the brim, the contents will overflow when the dispenser is fitted and the pump will be harder to prime.
Does the pump dip tube need to be trimmed?
Yes, the tube is longer than the bottle height so the dispenser can be used with different containers with a 24/410 neck. Trim it so that it ends just above the bottom or rests gently against it; an angled cut will help draw out the remaining contents. Without trimming, the tube will bend inside the bottle and the pump may draw unevenly.
Is the plastic bottle with pump suitable for oil serums and massage oils?
Yes, the PET bottle with pump dispenser is suitable for vegetable and massage oils, and the brown colour also protects the oil from light. Oil-based contents dispense slightly more slowly because the dispenser takes longer to refill after pressing. With a high proportion of essential oils or D-limonene, we recommend a compatibility test with the plastic before filling a full batch.
Can the bottle and pump be washed and reused?
Yes, the kit is designed for repeated use. Wash the bottle with warm water and detergent, sanitise with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Rinse the dispenser by pumping clean water through it several times and then letting it drip dry; for oily residues, warm water with a detergent will help.
