What the set is suitable for

The pump works best with fluid contents: emulsions such as body lotion and hand lotion, light creams, shampoos, shower gels, liquid soaps or massage oils. Thicker creams and butters cannot be drawn up by the tube and the pump "idles"; such products belong in a jar or pot.

The 250 ml volume is practical for daily-use products where the contents are used up within a few weeks. The pump tube reaches the bottom of the bottle, so the residue left at the bottom is minimal.

PET is stable against common cosmetic bases. For products with a high proportion of essential oils or alcohol-based mixtures, we recommend testing the container with the specific formulation in advance, as the material's appearance or seal may be affected.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the volume for which the bottle is designed for standard filling. Total volume to the brim is the physical capacity up to the neck and is larger. The difference provides a reserve for the submerged pump tube, for the air space above the liquid, and for expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle should be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. An overfilled bottle will overflow once the pump is fitted and the pump may become clogged.

Good to know

• Preparation before filling – rinse the bottle and pump before first use, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Residual water in the tube could compromise the preservation of the product.
• Reuse – the set can be used again after thorough washing and disinfection.
• Labelling – both paper and film labels can be applied to the bottle.
• Certificates – only the bottle has an individual food-contact certificate. The set as a whole is intended for cosmetics only.
• Recycling – the PET bottle belongs in sorted plastic waste. Unscrew the pump before disposal and discard it separately, as it contains multiple materials including an aluminium element.
