Gum Arabic is a natural rubber obtained from hardened resin. It is used in both the food and cosmetic industries.

It is a complex of polysaccharides and glycoproteins used as a stabilizer (improves the stability of emulsions). Gum Arabic is one of the oldest natural emulsifiers. It is also used as a thickening agent (for example, in mascara) and moisturizing agent. It is soluble in water.

In cosmetics, it is mainly used in skin care , hair care (hairsprays), make-up, powders and bath products.

Recommended dosage:
As a stabiliser : 1-25 %
As active substance: 1 - 3%
