The glass bottle with ribbed safety cap represents a reliable container for liquid and partially viscous formulations where protecting the stability and purity of the contents is important. The transparent glass allows easy visual inspection of the product’s colour, clarity and volume, which is appreciated by manufacturers of cosmetics, laboratory solutions and artisan makers of homemade preparations. The safety cap with lock helps protect the contents against unintentional opening and supports the professional appearance of the entire packaging.
Glass bottles of this type are compatible with various types of closures and dosing methods (for example screw caps, droppers, spray pumps or practical applicators) according to the selected parameters of the individual components. Combinations of containers and closures created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend carrying out your own compatibility test – particularly with regard to sealing, dosing accuracy and the behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation (viscosity, alcohol content, volatile substances, acidity or alkalinity).

The glass bottle is generally suitable for formulations with a higher proportion of essential oils or alcohol, because glass shows very good chemical resistance and only minimal interaction with the contents. When developing a new product, however, we always recommend carrying out your own stability and compatibility test – especially in the case of concentrated blends, unconventional solvents or high doses of active ingredients.
The container can be reused if hygienic principles are followed, especially in small-scale production or test batches. Before each new filling, however, the bottle must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected with a suitable agent, for example isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. For this purpose, you can use the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. This reduces the risk of microbial contamination, unwanted odours and cross-contamination between individual formulations.
Before the first filling, we recommend mechanically washing the bottle (for example with warm water and a suitable cleaning agent), rinsing it thoroughly, allowing it to dry and then disinfecting it. For repeated use, proceed in the same way: first remove any residues of the original product, rinse the container, let it dry and then disinfect it, for example with IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. When sharing containers between different products, it is important to pay particular attention to removing fragrances and coloured residues.
If you decide not to reuse the bottle, we recommend recycling it in accordance with local waste sorting rules and the information given in the product parameter table. As a rule, the glass container can, after being emptied and roughly cleaned, be placed in the container intended for glass. The cap and any inserts (if they are made of plastic) are sorted according to the type of plastic stated in the product parameters – separate the individual materials if necessary. By recycling correctly, you help reduce the amount of waste and support the reuse of raw materials.
