Bakuchiol 99% is a highly pure cosmetic active ingredient extracted from the seeds of the plant Psoralea corylifolia (babchi) using CO2 extraction. It is obtained by gentle extraction and purification, which guarantees a stable oily form with an active substance content above 99%. In the cosmetic industry it is known as a natural alternative to retinol, providing comparable anti-ageing effects without skin irritation. It does not increase photosensitivity and can be safely used during the day as well, making it an ideal ingredient for modern natural and anti-ageing cosmetics.

Use in formulation:

Bakuchiol is an oil-soluble active ingredient, recommended at a concentration of 0.5 – 2%. It is incorporated into the oil phase of emulsions or directly into finished oil serums. It is stable in a pH range of 4 – 6.5 and at temperatures up to 70 °C. It is compatible with vegetable oils, ester components and most emulsifying systems. To increase efficacy and protect it from degradation, it is suitable to combine it with antioxidants such as vitamin E.
