The glass medicine bottle with spray pump is designed to handle standard cosmetic formulations, including products containing alcohol and an appropriate proportion of essential oils. However, for highly concentrated blends or atypical formulations we always recommend carrying out your own compatibility test – testing the behaviour of the packaging, the seal and the spray pump during long-term contact with your specific product. This way you will find out in time whether the combination is suitable for serial production.

The packaging can be reused if hygiene principles are followed, especially for small-scale production for personal use or test series. Before each new filling it is essential to thoroughly clean the bottle and the spray pump and then disinfect them with a suitable preparation – we recommend for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured, plant origin. Only after thorough rinsing and drying is the packaging ready for further safe use.

When filling, we recommend using a funnel or dosing device to prevent contamination of the neck and thread. Do not fill the bottle completely to the top – leave a small headspace which allows proper fitting of the coloured head with dip tube and ensures the necessary air pressure during spraying. After filling, check that the tube is correctly seated down to the bottom of the bottle, screw on the spray pump smoothly without over-tightening, and before use press several times until the system is primed.

You can gently wash the glass body of the bottle with a suitable dishwashing detergent and rinse thoroughly with potable water. We recommend cleaning the spray pump more gently – repeated rinsing with water or a diluted cleaning solution is sufficient, drawing the solution through the dip tube and spraying several times until residues of the original product are removed. After washing, allow all components to dry thoroughly and then carry out disinfection with a suitable alcohol solution before the next use. This procedure will preserve the functionality of the mechanism and the hygienic safety of the packaging.

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it in accordance with the parameters listed with the product. After emptying and basic rinsing, the glass body of the bottle should be placed in the appropriate glass recycling container according to local rules. The plastic spray pump should be separated from the bottle and placed in plastic collection if the local waste sorting system allows it. Always follow the information in the parameter table of the specific packaging and local recommendations for waste sorting.
