The packaging can be used repeatedly under normal conditions of use, provided that you follow proper hygiene principles. Before each new filling, we recommend thoroughly washing the bottle and the pump, cleaning them mechanically and subsequently disinfecting with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example products available on Handymade: IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96% denatured plant-based. Before refilling, let the packaging dry completely.

First rinse the bottle with warm (not boiling) water and a mild cleaning agent to remove residues of the original product. Then we recommend using alcohol-based disinfection, for example isopropyl alcohol or plant-based ethanol. When cleaning the pump, it is advisable to pump clean water several times and then also the disinfectant solution so that they pass through the entire dispensing mechanism. Do not boil the bottle or the closure and do not wash them in a dishwasher, in order to avoid damage to the material.

If you decide not to use the packaging repeatedly, we recommend recycling it in accordance with the material marking given in the product parameters. It is advisable to empty the plastic parts, possibly rinse them from product residues, and place them in the appropriate container for sorted waste according to local rules (usually a plastic container). The pump and the bottle can be separated before disposal, which will make subsequent processing of the material in the recycling system easier. No special handling is necessary when working with the packaging; it is sufficient to follow the usual principles of municipal waste sorting.

The plastic packaging is not intended to be exposed to high temperatures, such as boiling, sterilisation in boiling water or washing in a dishwasher with hot programmes. In case of excessive heating there is a risk of deformation of the bottle or damage to the pump, which may negatively affect the sealing and the dosing functionality. Therefore, for cleaning and disinfection, choose rather lukewarm water in combination with a cleaning agent and alcohol-based disinfection, without thermal sterilisation procedures.
