FAQ – Frequently asked questions

Can I use this plastic bottle repeatedly?

Yes, the packaging can be used repeatedly with a suitable type of filling and proper handling. However, it is always essential to follow basic hygiene rules – before each new filling, the bottle must be thoroughly cleaned, rinsed and then disinfected with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. For disinfection you can use the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. Only after the interior and neck are completely dry is the packaging ready for refilling.

How should I properly clean and disinfect the packaging before another use?

First remove any residues of the original content and rinse the bottle with warm water and a suitable cleaning agent that is compatible with the material used. Then rinse several times thoroughly with clean water so that no residues of the cleaning agent remain in the packaging. After mechanical cleaning, disinfection is important – treat the interior and neck of the packaging with an alcohol-based preparation, for example the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. Let the bottle dry completely at room temperature and only then refill it.

Is the plastic packaging suitable for the dishwasher or for boiling?

Plastic packaging, especially materials such as PET or similar, is not intended to be exposed to high temperatures. When exposed to hot water, steam or boiling, there is a risk of deformation of the bottle, deterioration of the closure sealing and reduction of the mechanical stability of the packaging. For these reasons, it is not recommended to wash the bottle in the dishwasher or to boil it. For cleaning, it is more suitable to use lukewarm to moderately warm water, a gentle cleaning agent and subsequent disinfection with an alcoholic solution.

How should I properly recycle this plastic bottle if I no longer want to use it?

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, its recycling is recommended according to the type of plastic material specified in the product parameters and the recycling symbol on the bottom or side of the packaging. Before placing it in sorted collection, empty the bottle as much as possible, rinse any remaining content so that no cosmetic residues remain in the container for sorted waste. Then place the packaging into the appropriate container for sorted waste according to local rules – usually into the container designated for plastic packaging. The cap can be recycled together with the bottle if it is made of the same type of plastic; otherwise, it is advisable to sort it according to local recommendations.
