Is it possible to reuse this plastic bottle with spray dispenser?

The packaging can, for a suitable type of product, be reused provided that basic hygiene rules are observed. Before each new filling, both the bottle and the spray dispenser must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, ideally using alcohol-based disinfectants such as isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. For disinfection you can use the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alkohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. After rinsing and drying, the packaging is ready for reuse, and it is recommended to use it for the same or a similar type of formulation.

How can I safely dispose of and recycle this packaging if I do not want to reuse it?

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend properly emptying it and cleaning it from product residues. Then recycle it according to the recommendations given in the parameter table directly at the product on Handymade.sk – there you will find information on the material, based on which you select the appropriate sorting container (for example a plastic container for plastic packaging). The spray dispenser and the bottle may be made from different materials, therefore it is recommended to separate them before recycling and sort them individually according to the material designation.

For which types of products is the spray packaging most suitable?

The spray packaging is most suitable for liquid and low-viscosity formulations that are to be applied in the form of a fine mist or an even spray. These are mainly facial and body toners, hydrolats, air fresheners, hair sprays, light serums, disinfectant solutions with lower viscosity and various auxiliary solutions for home use. Thick creams, gels or balms are not suitable for this type of dosing, as they may clog the spray dispenser and reduce its functionality.

How should the spray dispenser be properly maintained so that it remains functional for as long as possible?

For long-term functionality of the spray dispenser, regular cleaning is important, especially if you work with formulations containing oils, plant extracts or pigments. When changing the contents, we recommend rinsing the dip tube and the spray mechanism with clean water and then with disinfecting alcohol to remove product residues. Avoid mechanical force when pressing, and store the bottle in an upright position to prevent unwanted stress on the mechanism. During longer storage without use, occasional spraying of a small amount of contents can help to “flush” the system.
